In the view of the death of Delhi's braveheart who passed away last night.

The nation should boycott the Republic Day celebrations in totality! Ensure a "NO SHOW". They don't want the citizens gathering even for a peaceful protest, so why should crowds gather to hear them at their convenience? And what is the Nation celebrating anyway?

We have a failed Government loathing in Corruption! It is time for a Revolution!

Let the PM & the President address vacant spaces & buildings. They don't want our presence now but let us be absent when it matters most. Let the world get a taste of our disgust. Let us shame them by playing their game."

Let us prepare for a New India!

I do agree with you Amit, that we ourselves need to be blamed about it.
But the thing is there has been nothing democratic on the front of protests that has been carried out on the streets of Delhi. Also not one lawmaker has pointed out that we are determined to bring in more stricter laws or the girl will be given justice soon. All we hear is "Theek Hai" !!!
So this protest is not against the Rape but against the inaction of the government which we have been tolerating past many years. Regrettably saying, that this unfortunate incident has acted as a Catalyst to stand up and protest against this inaction.
Thanks and Regards

dude,
i think its high time we stop blaming govt for all our misery and understand that its our duty as well to make sure that women are safe in our society. we are equally responsible for the pain she had to go through and her eventual death. before shouting FAILED GOVT. we should realize that its us who have failed her.
i am not trying to imply that our govt is the best in the world or that there is no fault with them but we should understand their limitations. you see, how many time have WE turned blind eye to the incidents of eve-teasing or other forms of harassment.  boycotting or protesting against govt wont help the cause, but our support will, our little extra vigilance will, our not turning a blind eye will. This govt. or any other govt, things wont change with our changed mindset.
i don't think "NO SHOW" on republic day is a solution, or even a step in right direction.
