The Alabama Department of Personnel is now accepting applications for Biologist II / Ecology Option positions statewide. There are numerous state agencies that will hire from this register. Among the agencies that will utilize this single Personnel Register will be the Alabama Aquatic Biodiversity Center (AABC) in Marion, Alabama.
Major duties of the AABC Biologist II – Ecology Option, include imperiled mollusk propagation and reintroduction activities targeting threatened, endangered and at-risk species. Completion of species status assessments, population monitoring, conservation planning, and basic research activities involving a range of at-risk freshwater species are also duties for this position. The AABC applicant is expected to work with a broad array of conservation partners including other state, federal, academic, and NGO’s.
