Job Description: Technician will contribute to statewide raptor monitoring goals and a research project on bald eagle demography, space use, and the potential impacts of human disturbance across an urban to rural gradient. Duties include but are not limited to raptor nest monitoring, data entry and management, route planning, and communication with co-workers and partners. Careful data collection in the field and data entry on the computer will be required. Work may be independent or with a partner. Work schedules will vary depending on time in season and task. Employees are eligible to contribute to a 401K or PERA state retirement fund. Work vehicle provided but housing is
not provided.
Location: Technician will drive state vehicle to raptor monitoring locations in Colorado's Northern Front Range. Most work occurs in the area bounded by Fort Collins, Denver, and Greeley. Duty station flexible, near Fort Collins preferred.
Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have a valid driver's license and smartphone. Candidates must have experience with data collection and entry, field navigation, and use of Microsoft Office. Previous experience conducting raptor nest surveys is desirable. Employees must represent Colorado Parks and Wildlife in a professional manner. Must provide own housing.
