Hi Heather,
I'm the Communications Program Manager with Big Thompson Watershed Coalition. I got your email from communications about the FRCC job fair earlier this year. I learned that Ashley is no longer at FRCC, so I figured I reach out to you to see if you, or someone
on your team, would be willing to share some information with the FRCC Forestry Program or larger networks within FRCC about an event we are hosting next week.
We will be hosting a special screening of Fire Lives Here, a documentary film that explores the role of fire in Colorado's forests, at the Rialto Theater in Loveland. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from BTWC, U.S.
Forest Service, National Forest Foundation, and Larimer County Office of Emergency Management. I thought it would be a great fit for interested students!
Please let me know if this is something you would be able to do, or if there is someone else I should reach out to about this.
For your convenience, I've included an event description below and attached the event flyer.
Event Description:
Join Big Thompson Watershed Coalition for a special screening of Fire Lives Here on Wednesday, May 27, from 5:30–7:30 PM at the Rialto Theater in Loveland. This powerful documentary explores Colorado’s evolving relationship with wildfire and the growing movement
to return planned fire to the landscape as a way to reduce the risk of destructive fires and create more resilient forests.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with local experts in forestry, emergency management, and landscape resilience. Presented in collaboration with the Northern Colorado Fireshed Collaborative, National Forest Foundation, Peaks to People Water
Fund, and the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, with support from Xcel Energy, this event offers a timely opportunity to engage with a critical issue facing Colorado and the western U.S. ahead of fire season.
Tickets are available at the link below and at the door.
