Subject: Multiple early career scientist opportunities in ecology and social science - please share with potential candidates!

Hi all,

We are looking to bring multiple early career ecologists and social scientists into our group at the US Geological Survey Fort Collins Science Center this fall to contribute to a team that

  • synthesizes science relevant to public land management activities on western lands and
  • studies the use of science products, such as wildfire risk assessments and science syntheses, for public lands analyses and decisions.

The scientists will be provided with important research and training opportunities, joining an existing collaboration between USGS scientists and resource managers from the Bureau of Land Management and other agencies within and outside of the Department of the Interior that seek to coproduce science and data products that inform public lands decision making. Please see the announcements below for additional information.

We anticipate hiring early career scientists at multiple levels, from MS to post doc. Candidates must have an MS degree or higher in natural resources management, ecology, conservation, or a related field to be eligible for consideration. Candidates must be either currently enrolled at a college or university or have completed their latest graduate degree (MS, PhD) within the last 12 months to be eligible for the position. Full-time in person work at the USGS Fort Collins Science Center in Fort Collins, Colorado is preferred, but part time and remote options may be considered.

Application deadline is October 6.

I'm happy to answer any questions about the opportunities.

Please share with anyone in your circles that may be interested!

Thank you,

Sarah
