The Monitoring Program at CSFS would greatly appreciate your assistance in advertising this opportunity to your students and advisee’s.
The CSFS Monitoring Program has an employment opportunity in the monitoring program that is perfect for graduating students. We are seeking to fill 1 seasonal position for the 2025 Field Season (May-November/December). This position will represent the expansion of the CSFS Monitoring Program, which is adding a second field crew for our first time this Spring. The Monitoring Program at CSFS establishes monitoring plots in forest management projects associated with the Healthy Forests, Vibrant Communities (HFVC) Act and the Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation (FRWRM) grant program which both seek to provide much needed funding for on-the-ground forest management actions that address critical forest health issues, fuels reduction and watershed protection. This position would see the selected applicant travel across Colorado to a number of project locations to install both pre and post-treatment monitoring plots to assess grant recipient compliance as well as treatment outcomes, part of the adaptive management cycle in action in Colorado. We are seeking students who are interested in gaining experience understanding applied management implementation, while also receiving opportunities to explore drone use in monitoring among other side projects with the monitoring program at CSFS.
