Description

Colorado Pond and Lake is a privately owned pond and lake management company based in Colorado, serving clients throughout the region. Our team is made up of experienced biologists and field technicians with extensive backgrounds in aquatic vegetation and algae management, fisheries, and overall aquatic ecosystem health. 

Internship opportunities will be available this season located in Denver, Colorado. Positions may begin as early as April 1 and extend through October 1, offering hands-on experience in the field and exposure to a wide range of pond and lake management practices.

Internship Duties May Include:

  • Gain hands-on experience by assisting with algae and vegetation identification and management
  • Assist with bathymetric, vegetation density, and fish population surveys
  • Assist with the handling, transport, and stocking of fish into managed water bodies 
  • Assist with the installation and removal of pond improvement equipment such as aeration systems and surface fountains
  • Conduct basic water quality sampling

Internship Requirements
 
Qualified applicants should be pursuing or have completed coursework in fisheries management, aquatic biology, or a related environmental or natural resources field. Preference will be given to candidates with basic mechanical skills, experience operating boats, and the ability to communicate professionally with clients. 

All internship positions are primarily outdoor and field-based and require physical labor. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary. Interns can expect to work an average of 40–50 hours per week throughout the season.

Internship Compensation

Interns will be paid $20-$25 per hour based on previous experience. Interns will additionally be paid 1.5 times their hourly rate for work over 40 hours per week. Housing may be provided if requested.
