Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you are all closing out the school year in good spirits and are ready for the well needed break that the end of the school year brings us.  We all need and deserve some a break!

Leadership Announcements

The team advisors read the applications and interviewed students who expressed interest in leadership positions for the 2020-2021 school year.  The decisions were tough this year and we thank everyone who applied to all of the positions.  We especially appreciate the ideas and direction that all of the applicants see our team moving towards.  Leaders are always needed, even if you don’t hold a title.

Moving Forward

Here are a few things to consider as we move into the summer.

1.       Keep Slack active and on your phone.  This is our team until the next team is put in place at the end of September 2020.  There will be some kind of formal process for you to let us know you’re coming back, but that won’t happen until school starts up again.  We may need some outreach help or have to communicate other items over the summer.

2.       Consider some enrichment – While we don’t know how the challenge will change, we do know that the core aspects and skills of FIRST will stay the same.  Keep CAD, Photoshop, Google Docs, Github, and other apps rolling, and share what you’re doing.  We are available to chat and mentor via email or Slack, just let us know.  The extra steps outside of just participating in robotics are what set you and our team above the rest!

3.       Seniors, we’ll keep you in the loop with things until the end of the summer when school starts back up.  If you have anything you wanted to keep from your H-drive or Google Drive, be sure to make a copy of it for your own records.  Also, please send us a photo of you in your alumni shirt when you get it.  These photos are nice to have on record for social media and other uses.

We’ll be in touch.  Please stay safe and look out for others this summer.

Clap, clap, whoosh!
