Once upon a time, I was walking through the woods, keeping a running
list of all things I saw (note that running is indeed a metaphor)
(also note that I'll be mentioning at least one thing I saw on this
walk through the rest of my correspondences (correspondence in this
case is a metaphor for valid rule)) when my dear mother announced that
we were out of our minds and she didn't know what to do. It had been
a hard three years, since my father was lost in the war against the
Agorans. Oh. "hard" time is another metaphor, while "lost in the war"
is an idiom, I think.

On that walk I saw at least three kinds of factories, one that made
cheese, another ____ and a third beer.
You can plainly see how well these three go together, and so I stopped
in each and proceeded to bring something home from each factory to my
dear mother (note the plainly here, which is plainly (another use of
plainly in a metaphorical sense) a metaphor). I HAVE to begin telling
you the recipe next time we speak, or indeed it will not be a valid
correspondence (once again a metaphor as mentioned above), I'm not
sure if you'll ___ it, but my mother and I certainly did.

P.S. I'm not sure if I've told you this before, but I have a slight
fetish for embeded parentheses, and no corespondence(another
metaphorical use) from me would be complete without at least one.
