Hey guys,
I found this formula in my ochem study guide. This is how it explains
the degrees of unsaturation thing -
degree of unsaturation = (2C +2 + N - X - H)/ 2
Two times the number of carbons, plus two, plus the number of
nitrogens, minus the number of halogens, minus the number of
hydrogens, all divided by two.
