Ideally we'd be able to go back and forth within the Instagram app but the drafts only show up for the person who created the Reel. Curious to hear how other social media managers handle this process.

Note: The Reel drafts are not synced across devices. So if you are logged into your Instagram account from multiple devices, you will see different Reel drafts on each phone based on where they were created.

Firstly, go to the Reels camera screen. Tap on the add (+) or gallery icon at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the Drafts button at the top to view all your Reel drafts.

To download a draft Reel from Instagram without posting, go to the Drafts folder and tap on the Reel to open it. You will reach the Share screen. Tap on Edit. Now tap on the Download icon at the top.

Visit the Instagram Reel Drafts folder and tap on the Reel that you want to publish. You will be taken to the share screen. Tap on Share at the bottom to post the draft Reel to your profile.

Go to your Instagram profile screen to find the draft Reel that you want to delete. That is, tap on the Reel icon and hit the Drafts option. On the screen where you see all your drafts, tap on the Select option at the top. Tap on the Reel that you want to delete and hit the Discard button.

Unfortunately, you cannot merge a video clip with your draft Reels. You will have to download the draft Reel first, create a new Reel, and add multiple video clips to it including the downloaded draft Reel.

Absolutely! Just go to your account and click on the Reel icon above the photo grid. Then find your drafts there. Tap on the draft -> select Edit -> find the Save button at the top and click on it. That's it!

Upon uploading videos, the real box will automatically be checked. In order to publish a regular video, you will need to uncheck this box. If the box is grayed out, this means that your video is longer than 60 seconds or outside the 4:5 to 16:9 aspect ratio and can only be published as a reel.
