Over the week end I have been looking at "Fold3" in the revolutionary pensions.  I wasn't finding much.  One John Odil that gave no good information.  I did know my John Alverson served out of Virginia and he is listed.  But then I remembered he served in the continental line with Morgan.  It made me remember an old lesson.  If a soldier served in a state militia their records are not stored in Washington but they are found in the state archives of the state they served from.  Anyone know any tricks to finding state records?
