I have started a website for Illinois counties.  I have eight listed so far and hope to have more IL counties links soon.

What is the website, Susan and can people add things to it?

Good morning Kaye

The Counties page is for other web masters to list their genealogy page on a list where researchers might see it.  If you are interested in finding information in a county you can go there and see if there is a website for it.  And no, you can not post to it but if you know of a good IL page you can tell me about it and I  can go see if that web master wants to link to my county page. Simply put, it just groups counties together and makes it easier to search.  There is also a states page that works the same way.  If you noticed my IL state page is linked to  "states" page also.

I'm thinking about a "brick wall" page soon.  What do you think about that one?  We could all post our brick wall we can't find on it.

Right now I'm working on collecting the rev war records of the rev war soldiers who died here in Franklin Co.  I'm not finding them all which tells  me they must have served in the militia in which case you have to write to that states archives of the state they served from for their record.

The pension started 1840 (or about).  I found my list on the 1840 census.

Bring up the 1840 census, go over to the right, a box for pension.  We scrolled down and looked for each man that had a mark then got the line (posted all data on the site).

Then we looked in the "IL Rev Men buried in IL.  Most of the men in that book will also state if they got a pension.  I have one man applied for a pension but died before he got his 1st check.

Try looking in the 1840 for pensions first?

What happened at the games that has cased so upsets?  I missed it 2 times ...
