Hello friends,
Susan and I just came from seeing Will at Vanderbilt Neuro ICU. Peggy was asleep...but there is a good reason for that! She had quite a morning. Yesterday was a pretty rough day but your prayers are turning the tide. Peggy spoke this morning. The speech therapist told Will and sons that sometimes a song will help jog someone's memory. They started singing Jingle Bells and Peggy joined in. Then they sang a few more and Will was very encouraged. She still has paralysis on her right side (stroke was on the left brain). Will's specific prayer request is twofold right now: That she continue making progress with speech and that she begin to show responsiveness from her paralysis.
We met Will's three sons and they are very appreciative of the prayers being lifted up. They have opened a caring bridge site. The link is
caringbridge.org and you input the following: peggyrandolph (run together and lower case). You can see updates as they make posts.
Will says they are being well cared for have no needs at this time. Her son said she loves visitors and although they are limited he thinks the interaction will be good for her. Their request at this time is "pray witout ceasing" ... something this class is very good at.
