As our last book report approaches its due date, I'd like to give you an update.
Students are turning in drafts to me- handwritten- by Wednesday morning. I
am correcting them and returning them to each student.
Students then have two options for typing up their report. They can use the attached word document and type in each text box the appropriate text. They should insert photos by either finding images or creating their own and inserting the jpegs into the already existing text box. Then they print or share with me via email.
The drawback is that it only works in WORD and we don't have WORD on the Chromebooks. We have Google Docs, but the document I created doesn't keep its formatting in Google Docs.
So for students that don't have access to WORD at home, they will have 3 days to type their reports in school. Instead of using my WORD doc, they can create an original document design as illustrated by the second attachment.
Students know to add the title Analíses literario #3 to the top of the report and their name right under it.
I've pushed the due date back to Friday of this week, but if need be, I will also use Monday and Tuesday. We were without Chromebooks which set us back a few days.
SO to recap:
IF students have WORD: they can do it at home and bring it printed on Friday OR share it with me so I can print it for them. They will have all week as I will return drafts corrected tomorrow and any other drafts by Wednesday.
IF students DON'T have Word, they can do it in class- Wednesday through Friday- on our Chromebooks. This design will then be an original design of their own creation. They will share it with me so I can print it for them. These students can also do it at home, through the GOOGLE Docs, then share it with me just like students using WORD.
Any questions? Let me know. Once graded and recorded, all three will be sent home with a writing rubric and their scores for each book report.
Thank you,
Maestra García
