Well Parents,
We made it. It's been a great year. I intended to organize a class party for the kids tomorrow, but of course, it got away from me.
SO, I went and bought the stuff they requested and it was easier than trying to set up a list or coordinate it all. What would be helpful are some donations. I figure if each child can bring $2, that should about cover the party.
Don't worry, I won't sugar them up entirely! In addition to the sugary requests, I bought muffins, granola bars, orange juice, fruit, and veggie chips.
We plan to continue watching our series which I affectionately like to call, "Little Mining Town on the Prairie." Who would have thought that this hi-tech, saavy and saucy bunch would be head over heals for a rated G show set in 1910 Canada in a mining town? Well, after we read Moon Over Manifest, they were hooked and this series is set at the same time, so we've been making a million connections to the book. It's really cool to see them relish the "old" way of life.
We will probably watch an episode or 2 or 3, depending on time and I will feed them breakfast stuff first, then sweet stuff after recess.
You are welcome to watch with us, but you will be shushed if you talk- not by me- by them- like I said, they are hooked on this series.
In advance, thank you for the donations you will send. We don't need any food or paper plates, etc, but a few bills to cover some costs would be nice BUT SO NOT required AT ALL. I am happy to provide these amazing kids with an end of the year party.
Best wishes to you all,
Ms. García
PS- If you didn't get a photo with me today, but want one with your child, you are welcome to come by and get it, but I warn you, it's dress down Thursday, so I will be in shorts and a t-shirt!
ALSO, report cards are going home as are some certificates some students will have for Living Wise program, Perfect Attendance, and anything they haven't brought home as of yet.
