hi people,

I have started working on franca for web applications. Here while making the environment ready  am facing few issues:

> In eclipse I have installed the franca 13 so I can generate the .js code for the client. But after that, If I try to common API it's asking for downgrading the franca to franca 9 but here I cannot generate the .js code for the client.

> Or to have the franca 13 I need to install the common API 2.9 which too old.

Does anybody have any idea how can have franca 13 and common API core code generator 3.1.x on the same eclipse tool, please.

thanks,
Siddhartha V

Hi,

you definitely should ignore CommonAPI 2. The latest available version is CommonAPI 3. However, this version needs Franca 0.9 - the CommonAPI maintainers didn't provide an update yet which can cope with more recent Franca versions. See also the compatibility matrix here: https://github.com/franca/franca/wiki/Compatibility-Overview

So in order to run the generators for CommonAPI C++, you'll have to install a separate Eclipse instance with CommonAPI 3 and Franca 0.9. You could also use the command-line versions of the CommonAPI generators for this, then you can avoid using a second Eclipse instance.

For the JS code generator you need Franca 0.13, and this is also what we recommend to edit the Franca files.

Regards,
Klaus

hi sir,

thank you so much for the info given.

What noticed here is "./runservice.sh" file. is it auto generated? how it will be generated ?

And coming to the point that running the code generators in terminal (command line) I downloaded the common API Core code generator and tried running it but I end up with error and I have raised the issue on that.

thanks and regards
