Baki Hanma (範馬 刃牙 Hanma Baki) - The main character, and son of Yuijiro Hanma. He has been training in bullshido since the age of three, and has trained under various teachers and coaches throughout his life. At the age of thirteen, he decided to take his training into his own hands and left the coaches to perform more intense training "in his father's footsteps". He later meets with his father and becomes disillusioned as to his father's true character, and afterwards, aims to defeat and kill him. His fighting style is called "Total Bullshit " and includes techniques from many different martial arts. He fights Andreas Regan in round 1, Zulu in round 2, Igari Kanji in round 3, and Retsu Kaioh in round 4 before facing his brother in round 5 which are the finals of the tournament. He eventually develops the ogre/demon face on his back when fighting his brother, but manages to suppress it. Unlike Yujiro, he chooses to control his killing intent and fight his battles fair and honorably no matter what the outcome. Many of Baki's unusual training methods often earn him the admiration of many of the fighters of the underground arena for example Shadowboxing, or visualizing fighting an opponent, is a big part of Baki's regimen sometimes his visions take an almost corporeal form and given he can easily remember and replicate any technique he sees this gives him a huge edge over his opponents as he can fight them and learn their weakness' before actually fighting them. Baki has encounters with all the escaped convicts in the 'Search of Our Strongest Hero' series, has just defeated Biscuit Oliva, and is now faced with a new challenge against the prehistoric man . He is currently waiting for his fight with Pickle after and are defeated. He had a shadow boxing visualization fight with a T-Rex prior to the Costume/Pickle fight.

When Baki asked why Yujiro killed they began to have their final fight. Baki awakened the demon face not on his back but on his brain. He fought evenly with Yujiro until he passed out. He managed to land hits while down with his fighting spirit. recognized him as his son and the only person who could give him a fight. Thereafter he made miso soup from Shadow Cooking, Baki mentioned it was salty and before Yujiro lied that it wasn't. Because he had to lie and couldn't make his lie into truth due to Baki spilling the soup for his father to save face, he declared Baki as the Strongest on Earth.

Baki has a mildly careless and reckless attitude. He will take on even the strongest of opponents, and this is clearly seen when early in the series he defeats the Yasha Ape. Although he is only 13, he is very mature for his age. He is a respectful young man who listens to his mother, but when he is in his fighting mode he is very powerful and almost won't listen or give up. He is strong enough to defeat any normal human being (and even mighty beasts) so this is one 13 year old you do not want to mess with.

Baki, a great grappler needs to live up to his name being the son of the the greatest grapplers of all time: Hanma Yujiro. At the Shinshinkai Organization's private arena, anything goes and the odds are always stacked against him. Current champion of the urderground tournament he fight to defend his title against the worlds strongest and best martial artists, including "the beast" his own father Yujiro.

New Grappler Baki takes off where the original series leaves off. As the new Tournament champion, he's generally taken it easy until he recieves the news of five deadly, murderous, fighters who have escaped their prisons and are now headed to Japan. Baki and his friends must deal with them before they are killed themselves. New Grappler Baki introduces new characters, new techniques, and begins to resolve the conflict between Baki and his father and also is super fricken awsome.

An alternate version of the manga/anime called Grappler Baki: The Ultimate Fighter. The story starts off with Baki entering a regular Karate tournament (as a warm up) and taking it by storm. He then moves on to the real challenge--Kosho Shinogi, The Cord-Cutter, known for ripping out and severing people's nerves and muscle tendons.. Note: This story appears to be non-canon, whereas it doesn't follow much of the original Baki The Grappler plot.

@captain_inverse: I can't find one honestly. The series The Breaker is split in twine, the first is really short but gives a thorough presentaton on his abilities and limits in all physical conditions (I'm pretty sure it's just 70 chapters with 20 pages a chapter). Plus it's a fantastic series with phenomenal art, I'd highly recommend it.

Context: He's on a roof with all the highest MA masters (weaker than HSD Kenichi masters, but higher than experts). In a few pages he fully enters Black Origin Threshold starts a fight by punching one of their heads off. Black Origin Threshold is a berserker mode buff.

Also note that Chun Woo punches using a ki technique that makes a ki explosion in front of his fist, able to break walls and the bones of people who can generally resist breaking bones in a single strike. His disciple's weaker version can create sonic booms. Both throw these around like candy.

For instance, he pretty much started fighting pickle with a collapsed lung & fractured ribs, after that dive they did from the top of the arena....which baki did twice iirc (the second was just to put himself in the demon state, I don't think he could control it at that point & was relying on the pain) & Pickle is no joke, strength-wise...

skill wise we seen Baki cut "cords" (nerves), insta-learn techniques just by watching others preform them, attack weak points others may deem "dirty fighting" (groin, eyes, hair, etc.), and has shown to adapt to & counter techniques if they are used on him more than once; once is all it really seems to take. (Shinogi & Biscuit both learned that the hard way)

@captain_inverse: If you like Baki you'll probably like this. It's a Korean Manwah, so it's not quite as well known around here but it takes all the tropes we've come to expect and weaves them together in a fast paced, constantly escalating romp with interesting, well defined and ever evolving characters. Its definately a new favorite of mine. I'd describe it as HSD Kenichi and Baki doing a fusion dance.

BOT is similar to Baki's demon, but while Baki just gets pumped BOT is a complete trance. He's technically unconscious for the duration and thusly immune to pain, and is forced to peak stats and fighting ability...like running on pure kung fu instinct, but with kaio ken. And absolutely no distinction between friend and foe.

Chun Woo has pretty extreme endurance himself and can leap off buildings and chase cars in critical condition, and can even slowly heal himself with ki. He does not have an answer to Baki's sheer variety of styles, but his accuracy, speed, and power are definately on par. His name Goomoonryong means 9 Arts Dragon, he's called so because he's the only guy to ever master all 9 of his universe's arts. He's basically his universe's Yujiro, but not quite so masculine.

I have not heard anything about the PS release date but it's literally at the top of my list. I'm utterly dying for it, and if that HvS fight is anything like the trailer I might actually cry but in a manly way lmao the anticipation is killing me.

There's nothing announced yet, but Hajime No Ippo has been coming out with new seasons every couple years in consistent intervals and I think we're about due for another. If you haven't seen that Id recommend that as well, IMO it's the quintessential pinnacle of this genre.

You know ppl will know him better if you titled it as Nine Arts Dragon love the manhwa currently reading Trinity Wonder made by the guys behind The Breaker, in it they have a guy who is basically a super Chun Woo he has chi blasts and can punch through mechs.

Listen. I am sukin at descriptions right now so read the first few chapters and you'd get the jest. Also I am 99.99% sure I'm the only one who made a yujiro x male reader (at the time)........ I'm under a lot of pressure aren't I??? Damn. I was supposed to threaten you about how I'm the only choice you have so you might as well read mine but....whatev. I got like ten more books, read 'em if you'd like.

It should be "happy end" somewhere - she found love, not even looking for it, was happily married, with the most dangerous man in all Japan, she almost found her place in Yakuza...but life didn't pamper, as always. Now she's closed in a body of small white fox, who totally want to take back its nine tails (ok, eight) and return to her strong female body, FINALLY to be with her husband now and forever!

What can go wrong? Can it be even worse?
