Has any work started yet on making the bootstrap work with CentOS 6?
If not I may start on it...

Thanks!

Are you referring to bootstrapping chef on CentoS 6? if so i have
written a bootstrap script

https://github.com/bryanwb/chef/blob/f6d08a2fe2e68e22f6e394bca0a80f69b26538ef/chef/lib/chef/knife/bootstrap/el6-rpms.erb

Oh.
Found it...
this page: http://blog.frameos.org/opscode-chef-rpms/
doesn't point to: http://blog.frameos.org/2011/05/19/bootstraping-rhelcentos-6-chef-0-10-nodes-using-rbel-rpms/

Bryan, is your bootstrap script different or the same as the one referenced there?

Thanks!

Yeah, I should add that to the Chef documentation page in the FrameOS
blog. I'll link Bryan's bootstrap script too.

I would be great to have some sort of official Opscode repo for all
the bootstrap scripts. Don't know if that has changed lately.

Maybe a good topic for the opschef mailing list :)

mine is different, would have used that one if I had known! mine has a
few enhancements such as handling encrypted data bags and the script
there neglects to install the following rpms

dmidecode ruby-shadow

also, the version of the bootstrap script i linked to has a syntax error

it would end w/

<%= start_chef %>'
