Hi Ahinay,
Off-course you are more than welcome to join our mission, be welcome
to the team!..
To be completely frank, the team is quite stop nowadays, so we need
someone to run this team again. Would you like to help us to
reactivate this team? --basically, this means to invite new members,
assign them new tasks, pursue the code and make a new post in our blog
from time to time.

Hope to hear from you!
Marc

Well Sir, yes i can invite new members. My friends and i are working pretty hard in image processing these days(not face recognition though).
But Sir i am in search of a summer internship in this field. And also i did like the proposal of creaing the ultimate face recognition engine with facebook.
I will definitely work to reactivate your team.
I would be grateful if you could help me in finding some good internship related to image processing or computer vision.

Hi Abhinay,
Tks for the prompt reply!.. :)
I know that other people here are good in computer vision too --and
that's why they joined us-- but I'm afraid they have don't post much
in this forum bc of its non activity, so I think we could start with
the great ppl we have here. Also, you can find a lot a good groups
and documents in http://www.face-rec.org/ (we have been featured in
their "related links" too). As it's indicated in the source code is in
http://faint.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/faint/trunk/src/de/offis/faint/detection/plugins/
, the svn of faint, the "main engine" we pretend to use for our system
unfortunately, I'm not a coder myself, so I can't help u for technical
things, but I can help for post in our blog
http://fr4fb.wordpress.com/ and I will do my best to reactivate this
team ..

Thanks for all,
Marc

PS: you don't need to call me "Sir", a "u" is enough !

Dear Marc,

I am quite sorry that we haven't had time to continue work on fb4j -
our other obligations left us little time to do the work. We are
starting again, however, a little bit every week, to bring to fruition
fb4j 3, including the features we dicussed. I can't promise a
specific schedule, but our goal is to make progress, even if gradual.
I'll update you again once the functionality required for fr4fb is in
place.

Good luck in the meantime and keep in touch!

Abhinav,
I forgot to tell u in the last mail: we want to integrate Faint (
http://faint.sourceforge.net/ ) in Facebook with a Facebook API for
Java mainly developed by Gino FB4J ( http://www.fb4j.org/ ) and there
is a need to pursue the development in FB4J (Gino, correct me if I'm
wrong) to do so. In this context, do you think u could help us
--and/or find some other enthusiasts to do it?

Marc, Abhinav,

Yes, fb4j has been a "work in progress".  Mino and I are trying to release a beta version of our 3rd iteration before we open it up to the public.  There is still a bit of work to be done.

Hi,
Just a thought: could those projects
http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/User:Java (specially
this one, http://code.google.com/p/facebook-java-api/ who seems to be
more active) help you to pursue the development of FB4J ?

Hi Marc,

I think they are progressing along different lines than fb4j.  We are trying to provide a proper object-model so that fb4j apps will have compile-time (aka early) type checking and other quality-improving features.  This one of the reasons it has been taking so long to develop.  I hope we will have something in coming months.
