What can I do if I'm not getting the speed I pay for? If results from FAST.com and other internet speed tests (like
dslreports.com or
speedtest.net) often show less speed than you have paid for, you can ask your ISP about the results.
When I go to
speedtest.net, it hangs while trying to determine the optimal server. Otherwise, internet access seems to behave as expected. I feel like there's some configuration piece I'm missing here.

So I just tried my download speed and it said I am getting what I should be for the gig internet but when I tried
speedtest.net it shows 100 mbps. I just tried downloading a game which is sims 4 from origin and I am getting about 11.50 MB / sec which should be faster then that so I am sure that the verizon test is lying to me bout getting 940 Mbps
This started after i read this article about how a Comcast user took his raspberry pi to run
speedtest.net and then post the results to Twitter. After reading the article I thought it would be awesome to be able to run
speedtest.net from SAM. The original script is written in Python, I spent some time modifying the actual Python script and ran into some snags. After I thought about it some more I decided to just wrap the Python script in Powershell. This allows it to function better in SAM and allows me to simply update the python script if there are updates without having to rewrite everything.
When I try to use
speedtest.net, in the middle of downloading part of the test, I lose access to my network and the only way to fix it is to reboot my computer. I can reproduce the issue every time, but unfortunately I don't have any logs to share. I tried to initiate speedtest while having "journalctl -f" open, but no logs show up.
I also noticed that once in a while I lose network access while uploading files using samba. Help!
I want to make a widget to display the user's most recent speed test results. Does
speedtest.net have an api I could use? I tried making an ajax request to =1&ria=0&s=0 but got a cross domain error. I tried an iframe, but that just made it appear in downloads.
The reason you're unable to use AJAX is because Chrome will not allow JavaScript to perform cross-site requests unless the Access-Control-Allow-Origin response header is set in the response from
speedtest.net to permit such a request.
I have ASG S400-40 appliance at a customer deployed in transparent mode. The customer has an internet link of 155Mbps. But when we do a speedcheck from
speedtest.net , it was showing only 10-14Mbps. I tried the persistence CPL which I found in another thread, but the issue did not reslove. I changed the TCP window size from 65535 bytes to 314571 bytes, I got around 120Mbps in the speed test. I would like to know whether it is recommended to change the window size, if yes is it ok to give it till 1MB atleast?. What is the impact of changing window size on performace of an ASG?.
Addition: I just did a speedtest on
speedtest.net. In my example, I "should" get a download speed of 32,5MB/s. Now - with that speed there are other things limiting downloads (like disk-speed+++) but it should give me a pointer of what I could expect with hardware that supports it.
I benchmarked the quite simple solution here against the ookla speedtest webpage (
speedtest.net) and the results are the same. There might be caveats with this simple approach, but one avoids extra rules and binding definitions, which a solution with speedtest-cli requires Openhab: speedtest-cli-by-ookla-internet-up-downlink-measurement-integration
