Hi,

The clause `descendit itaque jus quasi ponderosum quod cadens deorsum recta linea vel transversali, & nunquam reascendit' means `therefore the right descends, like a heavy weight falling downwards in a straight line, and never ascends'. Blackstone notes that Coke took this quaint idea over from Bracton (Commentaries, Book II, Ch. 14). For the nonce, I'll take his word for it---two of the marginal notes in the facsimile copy of Coke that I took the present extract from are too indistinct for me to tell whether Coke is citing Bracton here.
[Paul Lyon]

It's strange and strong that's french man's, but i don't have original references, what's your translate from Ponderousness, it's Ponderosum ?
