Spartan School of Aeronautics-May 1978- May 1979-Tulsa,Ok
This consisted of learning the operation and troubleshooting of aircraft
avionics systems.

Work History:
1 USAirways- June 1987- present- Charlotte, NC
I work in the avionics shop where my job is to test and troubleshoot to the
component level, repair, realign, test and recertify the avionics equipment for
return to service to be reinstalled on our aircraft. I am now and have for 10
years been assigned to the radar area. USAirways has sent me to the following
factory schools: Windshear Radar, TCAS, DME and S Mode Transponder. This is some of
the test equipment I use for troubleshooting: oscilloscopes, power meters,
multimeters, signal generators, Z meter, Huntron Tracker, spectrum analyzer and
ARINC/BUS analyzer. For electronic repairs we use soldering irons and surface mount
rework systems. If it is a mechanical problem, we use whatever mechanical tools we
need. I also acted as temporary foreman for about 6 months when our shop was in
Greensboro, NC.
2 King Radio- May 1979- June 1987- Olathe, Ks
From May 1979- Sept 1980, I worked in the test department where my job was
test, troubleshoot to component level, repair and certify avionics equipment as
being airworthy and ready to be sold to be sold to the public. The equipment I
worked were the KWX56 and KWX58 radar systems.
From Sept 1980- July 1982, I worked at the King modification hangar, at the
airport, where we had a government contract to remove all existing avionics
equipment and wiring from all Army U21 aircraft and build new wiring harnesses and
reinstall them with new avionics equipment. After the installation was complete, we
reassembled the aircraft and tested and certified all avionics systems and test
flew and certified the aircraft.
From July 1982- June 1987, I transferred back to the test department, where I
was made the Lead technician and continued working radar systems and navigation
equipment.
3 Spartan School of Aeronautics-May 1978- May 1979-Tulsa,Ok
4 Geo Space Applied Magnetics-Oct 1977- May 1978- Houston, Tx
Here we welded together the frames of seismograph rigs that were used in
surveys for oil.
5 Sooner Mechanical Trade School-Oct 1976- Oct 1977-Tulsa,Ok
This was a combination welding course
6 United Beechcraft-Dec 1975- Aug 1976- Wichita Intl Airport
Here I did avionics modifications and installations to aircraft as requested
by the customer.
7 Catlin Aviation- Dec 1974- Nov 1975- Oklahoma City, Ok
Here I did avionics modifications and installations to aircraft as requested
by the customer.
8 I worked construction-July 1972- Dec 1974- different locations
9 Howard Electric- July 1970-June 1972- Denver, Co
