Responsible for providing technical support to sales staff and customers.
Provides, presents and interprets application information. Acts as primary
technical interface for field sales personnel and customers.
Provides technical sales support, including customer visits and field
design support. Develops product specifications and applications for
specific customers. Establishes goals and objectives with sales
representative for each target account. Qualifies design activity at the
customer engineering level. Presents appropriate opportunities to
sales/marketing management. Participates in the definition of new products
and the identification of niche areas which present new opportunities for
the company. Makes new product and/or literature recommendations to
marketing. Uses familiarity with company's Reliability and Quality
Assurance procedures to resolve problems and help ensure customer
satisfaction. Provides technical sales training. Organizes and maintains a
field technical library as well as sales aids. Prepares technical
presentations for customers and representatives. Maintains awareness of
competitors' status in both product and design areas. May provide guidance
to lower level engineers.
Senior level: Uses professional concepts and company's policies and
procedures to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and
practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data
requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment with
generally
defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for
obtaining solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
BSEE or equivalent education or work experience. 3-6 years related
experience which includes 2-3 years specialized experience at the Engineer
II level. A master's degree may be substituted or 1 year of the experience
requirement. A PhD with appropriate specialization may be substituted for
the total experience requirement.
