Obijuan or somebody,

I apologize if I am writing a message in English.  However, can we update a few files within the FPGAwars website to work with our "new" Alhambra II?

one without text

Thank you very much in advance

Hi William,

I'm responding in English as this my native language.  I do speak / write a little Spanish so I will attempt a translation for the mahorit

I understand your frustrations but to be fair to the team the website is not their primary focus.  This is an open source development - they aren't paid for their time.

The primary focus is to develop the software to a point where it works reliably.  Once the software foundation is well established then time can be spent on updating the website and documentation.

I have found a 3D printable stand for you on Thingiverse for the Alhambra 2.  I haven't tried it but I intend to shortly.  I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work.

If you want a stand without text I can probably design something for you in Freecad within reason.

If there is anything else I can do to assist you please let me know.

Kind regards

Alex

Hi William,

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1305273

Atentamente

Alex

Hi William! You can write in English whenever you want. I think that even though the list was created for the Spanish-speaking world, the few of us who participate are comfortable with both languages, and from my point of view, the important thing is that we all contribute, so please never hesitate to write/reply, etc.

Regarding the projects you mentioned, I wasn't here yet, so I don't know what stage they're at, to be honest. The website itself is somewhat neglected since the direction of the community has changed, and I think the site remained in a state of initial momentum.

In any case, Obijuan will be able to answer this better.

Best regards, and as I said, never hesitate to suggest things in English!

Thanks!  I really appreciate that Obijuan decided to fork the FPGAwars website into Spanish and English websites.  I found out that his website is really awesome, how limited my Spanish comprehension is.  I went through the translation page.

Furthermore, I already ordered two RC servos and two O-rings for Obijuan's icebot project, the Alhambra 2, instead of the previously mentioned original board.
Thanks again,
William

Alex,
Yes.  I want a 3d printable Alhambra 2 stand without its text.  Can you create it, then post it here?

Thanks,
Wm

Hi William, not a problem. Anything in particular you require besides a way of supporting the board?

Do you want it to be in the same style as the one i already linked to previously?

Do you need a space for a breadboard or anything else?

Of course i will share the design...it would be poor behaviour not to 😀

Can you give me a day or so - I have many duties to fulfil before spending Christmas with my family. 😀

Kind regards

Alex

Saludos

Alex

Hello William,

Alex is a nice guy ;-)

But in case you wan to learn something doing this "cosmetic job" by yourself, you can try modifying the stl file following youtube tutorials.
Like those two :

Have a nice weekend guys.

Sorry, the previous link was for Icezum; this one is for Alhambra II, but it contains logos. It's very easy to remove the text; you can even use any slicing software to cut that part out.

I just found another link with and without text:

Hello Everyone - in particular @William DesLauriers

I have as requested created a version of the Alhambra II support plate without text but with a base:

image.png

I have attached the STL file here so that you can slice it and print it yourself.

If anyone is interested in how I was able to achieve this I wrote a blog post:

It may be of interest to some...

I have written some posts about Icestudio in the past also.

If anyone would like any more assistance with Freecad or with anything electronics related - within reason please ask.

Kind regards

Alex

saludos

Alex

Hi team!! first of all your are great!!!

One thing, since you're motivated by this, why not consider extending the model so that, for example, we can have a base that firmly holds a medium-sized breadboard on one side, or even two breadboards, one on each side, making it very easy to create small assemblies without everything "moving around"? I think it could be very interesting.

Hi Charli,

I did ask for design requirements.  I'm more than happy to extend the base to allow for breadboards.  One moment and I will provide the modifications requested.

If there are any further modifications please ask.

Kind regards as always

Alex

Hola Charli,

Here is an image of what I have quickly designed:

image.png
It will provide space for 2x 400 pin modular breadboards with the Alhambra II in the middle.

Apologies for not displaying the Alhambra II in the image.  I don't have a 3D model for it.

I have attached the STL and Step file for this version in case others wish to make modifications or changes.

Kind regards

Alex

Alex! That looks really good! Let me think about it, I think something quite interesting could come out of this.

Real awesome, Alex!  I already printed them out on my own Creality K2 Pro 3d printer!   I ordered a reel of green filament for Obijuan's icebot project and a reel of red filament for a NAND to a Tetris computer system project.

A lot of hugs,
Wm

Why don't you start a new thread about this base topic? I think it could be a good discussion and it's very interesting.
