Hello guys,

i hope you are all fine.

i just found this quite powerfull fpga board

kintex.JPG
and for a qite good price.

It seams kintex are supported by yosys,
What do you think Carlos?
Do you think that we could bring support for such powerfull board in icestudio?
Or will those big designs (that  can fit on those xilinx boards) just be to heavy for a tool like icestudio?

A hug and have a nice weekend guys!

Hola Charli,

Thank for the reply.

I will wait a bit more before pushing the buy button !
I am not yet out of ressources with my Colorligth i9 boards (ecp5 45k luts) ;-)
up to now, the max dsp block i used was maybe  8  in my icestudio projects (and with un-optimised code).

new Icestudio before summer,.... it is really close now ;-) !

Tapping the buy button is always very dangerous XD

At APIO, we're working on it. Gowin boards are already working, and Kintex is the next to enter the scene ;)

As soon as we have some things finalized, I'll introduce the new approach to card integration. Jesús' Icecream board will be the "godmother" or "special guest" with whom I'll be doing the tutorials to register any card (Kintex, etc.), making it much easier than before. It's been waiting to be released for a year now, and everything is ready, but for various reasons and wanting to release things in a logical order, it's waiting.

By mid-July, I want to have a first working version of this Icestudio 2025 (we need a cool name for this development version! XD). It won't include all the new features I have planned for this year because they're for the whole year, but it will have some very important changes, including this issue of new cards. After this step, everything will go faster (like at the beginning of the year, until I delved into rewriting the rendering engine, which was like jumping down a rabbit hole without looking back).

I hope everything goes well and I can maintain the development pace I've been at these past few months, which has been very good.

Have a nice weekend i hope you dream with electric dsps! ;)
