=Dear Fellow Painters,
I wanted to share some information about the Face Painting & Body Art Convention for those of you who may not be familiar with who and what we are. This convention has formerly been held in Orlando, usually during January or February. We have changed the location to Las Vegas, NV to make it more accessible and affordable. (Special airfare rates are always available) and hotel rates are very competitive. Las Vegas is the convention capital of the world, has many venues to choose from and it is definitely a "convention friendly" city.
Holding our convention during the winter months allows most painters an opportunity to enhance their skills during our 'slower' season without having to give up paid jobs or even) learn a new skill such as balloon sculpting, henna,or glitter tattoos that could provide additional income. By attending our business classes you can learn new ways to market your skills and build your business.
Our current listing of teachers includes instructors from 8 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES and several who have won world championships. We are working very hard to bring you quality educators from around the world so you can have the best opportunities to improve your skills, learn new techniques, and create a business as unique as you are.
Our current schedule looks something like this:
Pre and Post Classes with limited enrollment to assure personalized attention(Monday, February 8th and Friday, February 12th)
Henna, airbrushing, glitter tattoos, special fx, children's classes, and balloon sculpting will be 'sprinkled' into the mix.
Three nights of parties and jams complete with a DJ so you can practice what you have learned, visit with old friends and make some new ones. We will be bringing in groups of children and moms-to-be so you can practice on live models (rather than paint yourselves and each other only to rub your face raw by constantly removing designs to make room for new ones! LOL) On Thursday evening, February 11th, we will have our fabulous costume and awards banquet.
There will be a children's competition as well as separate ones for professional level (instructors) and non-professional level. There will be awards for ALL children that participate and of course awards for the top painters in both divisions.
We have a vendor room (3,000 square feet!) packed with all of your favorite products and some new ones you haven't seen before! Current vendor list includes: Amerikan Body Art, Snazaroo, North American Body Painting Championships, Glimmer Body Art, Wolfe FX, D & D Marketing, Diamond FX, Boulder Body Art, Party Faces, Trendy Tribals, Arty Brush Strokes, Body FX, Mark Reid Art and ProFace Paints. There will be special stage demonstrations and presentations each evening as well as vendor specials just for you!
We will also have a silent auction and raffle with over 100 prizes including free hotel room nights, dinner, show tickets and private tutoring sessions with the best of the best!
Registration is $300.00 until December 10th, children's registrations are $225.00 and we have a special rate for individuals with teaching certificates or ones who are working with a 501c3 not-for-profit group. All November registrants will be entered into a drawing for a free hotel night.
