The following is the budget for Leeds University:
Here are the cost estimates:

Costs are at 100% FTE for 17 mths
Exchange rate used is £= €0.7104 (which is 10 pts below the
Commissions
rate)

Salary €113,661
Indirect €68,197 (overhead)
Total cost €181,858

Total from EU €136,394

Over head rate is 60% and the funding from the EU is at 75%

Just entered the values in the A3 form.

BTW, I guess that the budget could be also calculated with a bit more
"pessimistic" view of the whole thing. I mean all the unexpected "what
if" etc. In addition, such a project with a big team and a long time
has to show that it is also sufficiently budgeted. For the time being
we are rather at the lower limit of the budget range at a little less
than 3 Millions. This amount is rather low for this project and it
could turn to a reason for denial of it.

I will have to raise the budgets proportionally on order to reach the
mark of 4 millions.

What do the other guys think about that?

very interesting that we are not argueing about money :) i saw few projects where people were figting about money.

IDSI is ok with the idea to increase it proportionally and let's see how it will look like. It means we'll increase the PMs? am i right?

Hi Nick,

I am glad you think this. I was afraid that CITIC had a rather high
estimation of MM and budget in relation to our role and compared to the
other partners. Now it seems that the other partners are on the low side I
think we can maintain the MM and budget as we planned.

Hi everybody!

Considering the budgets, I am glad to know that you see it the same
way too. Some time ago I said to Gio, that we can't expect to be paid
like millionaires in FP7, but I think that we also should ensure that
the budgets are sufficient. There can be always things that go wrong,
or delays, or anything else, and the budget should take this into
consideration. In addition, it would be really bad to have people
working so much without covering the costs they have. After all...
even scientists must eat, pay bills, etc. ;-)

Ao, now I am going to raise the budgets as described. Actually, as far
as I am concerned, this is the only thing that remained to do. After
that I could push the "submit" button. But there is a new question
too. I am going to include it in the next newsletter, which I will
upload in some minutes.
