Hi everybody!

I just finished raising out budgets and now we are at a total of a bit
less than 4 mil., which is much more adequate for a project with such
a number of partners and such a duration. As already said, I could
fire the "submit" button now, but in the meanwhile we have a new call:
FP7-ICT-2011-C ( http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/dc/index.cfm?fuseaction=UserSite.FP7DetailsCallPage&call_id=319
) . So I would like to know what you think. Should we keep our
proposal in FP7-ICT-2009-C or go for the FP7-ICT-2011-C?? What would
be better??

Then, as we already discussed about, many of us are going to visit
eChallenge2010. The question is, should we prepare some things for
that, and if so, what? I could imagine some description of our project
and its methods/goals in some small lecture, or a poster, and the
similar. What do you think?

Another thing to ask here comes actually from Milan, who thought about
how to "show" the difference between the requested contribution from
the EC and the total budget. Indeed a good question. How do we do
that? I didn't find anything special in the many documents available
in FP7.

Last thing to mention, I came in contact with the SAS Institute
regarding our project. Since they are the only (?) company in BI which
also kept a very scientific attitude, I expect them to be interested
to what we do and especially of course for our semantic BI. I will be
talking with them in more details on August the 2nd, and who knows?
Perhaps they would also like to contribute both with knowledge and
money. So, cross your fingers! Perhaps we will be having to do with
Mr. Goodnight and the guys. ;-)

I think the proposal should be submitted for the FET-Open call. Firstly, I notice there are no handbooks or guides for applicants on the new call website so we've little idea what they are specifically looking for and, secondly, we have written the proposal to the requirements of FET-Open.

OK, Mark, this is what I think too. So in case there is nothing else
to talk about, I would say, let's submit it now.

So, that was you who brought the cold weather?

BTW, it is much better on the south side of the Alps. Perhaps you take
a trip there.

as far as I am concerned press the submit button! Let us see what will EC
say about it. Hopefully something more than one sentence this time :)
For all other questions (eChallenge, showing difference, SAS, what next with
SEMACOMP...etc.) I vote for another conference.
How about Thursday? I assume many of partners are on vacation so let's see
who is available...

I agree that you should press the submit button. If there is a relevant call comming out, we might get pointed in that direction - but at least then we would know that our project is relevant for that call.

There is nothing to stop us putting in bids to other calls as far as I know. Indeed this seems to be a good strategy for actually getting funds.
