Call for Industrial Track Papers -------------------------------- International Conference on Web Intelligence, Mining and Semantics (WIMS'12) June 13-15, 2012 Craiova, Romania
Background ---------- Web intelligence, Web mining, Web semantics have been and are of major interest for the research communities worldwide. Many papers and publications in these areas address various issues and open new directions for research and prototyping.
With this view we are calling for software applications and prototypes able to demonstrate the various practical applications of many theoretical research results. The Industrial Track will be looking for early market positioning and validation of new ideas and early stage prototypes and demos. We would like to learn from authors why their idea is better than others and to see a demonstration of an early prototype that can support the novelty and potential of the new idea.
The goals of the Industrial Track are: first giving the opportunity for authors/inventors to present their idea in a friendly environment made of academic peers and some business professionals and secondly, to create a round-table where to discuss the challenges and issues with promoting an academic idea into the industry for prototyping and commercialisation within EU and global context.
Submissions requirements ------------------------ We are looking for submissions of maximum 3 pages (formatted according to ACM guidelines), PDF format, describing the proposed software applications and prototypes. We recommend the following structure as guidelines for the submission: describing the perceived value of the proposed application, why is it better than others already existing, demonstration of the application and results/performance measurements.
The Industrial Track welcomes applications that are in various stages of development ranging from early stage/patented only, in process of piloting and already deployed with a small number of users.
Important Dates
--------------- Submission of application & prototype papers: March 2nd, 2012 Acceptance for application & prototype presentation: March 16th, 2012 Camera-ready application & prototype papers: March 30, 2012
How to Submit ------------- Papers submissions for the industrial track must be made electronically in MS Word or PDF format through the EasyChair submission system at
