What is WordPress? If you've ever heard anyone talk about building a website, there's a good chance you've heard of WordPress. Originally launched in 2003, WordPress has since become the most popular CMS in the world, powering over 60 million websites today.
I am an Oracle Database Administrator by trade, and you will find plenty of material about my favourite database management system here. For some time now I have been looking into other technology as well, mainly DevOps, micro-services-driven software development and deployments, their underlying infrastructure and generally speaking emerging trends. This turned out to be so exciting that I started adding a few more categories to the blog where you can expect more content to arrive very soon.
This blog is about technology, and does not concern itself with either licensing nor monetary aspects (=cost). Many of the posts hosted on my blog refer to software that requires (extra) licensing to use. Always make sure you are license compliant.
One important consideration for contributors working on this project is the overlap with wordpress.org/gutenberg. The Blocks page is more of a static brochure style introduction, whereas the Gutenberg page is a fully interactive demo that offers an overview of how the editor works. Although they are similar resources, they both have distinct purposes.
Serializes a block node into the native HTML-comment-powered block format. CAVEAT: This function is intended for re-serializing blocks as parsed by valid parsers and skips any validation steps. This is NOT a generic serialization function for in-memory blocks. For most purposes, see the following functions available in the @wordpress/blocks package:
Hello Rhonda-Permalinks do NOT have to match the post title exactly. In fact, there are several settings that would create different permalinks in your wordpress settings (Settings > Permalinks) such as page id - default, day and name, month and name, post title, etc. Here is the codex page for permalinks: _Permalinks.
In regards to SEO and wordpress, you want to include keywords in your permalinks that would help search engines find your site. You may include the exact title of your page and you may not depending on the length of your title and what keywords are used. Here is a link to Yoast's SEO URL page for more information: -seo-url-permalink/. There are several videos from google employees discussing a range of questions on this subject. Hope that helps.
The Quick Draft is a mini post editor which allows writing, saving and publishing a post from admin dashboard. It includes the title for the draft, some notes about the draft and save it as a Draft.
Luckily, SCA-DI left an answer for us where we least expect it. Here is a certain light-hearted moment from Jabberwocky I when Tomosane tries to scare away Hasaki with a nasty and vulgar joke. (Thanks zeality for tipping me off about this one!)
Putting aside whether the above line is SCA-DI actually dropping a hint or being a huge troll, Ayana being a schizophrenic patient is actually a logical way to explain this contradiction. Patients suffering from Schizophrenia lose the ability to distinguish between dream and reality.
The way SCA-DI handled this outermost layer of SubaHibi where Ayana is the subject has always been the most controversial topic about the game. Confusing clues about Ayana are scattered throughout every chapter of SubaHibi, ranging from Lovecraft to Norse Mythology. Even the schizophrenia theory I mentioned above is based off nothing but a montage of still frames. It is the epitome of an open-ending.
Yet, the more presentations I went to, the more worried I became. The term no longer seemed to have the political edge it did when I was first learning about it as a graduate student. At first I assumed that I had become so acclimated to the term that it no longer felt revolutionary to me in the ways that it did before. But the more I heard, the more I realized that it was, in fact, being used in ways that were disconnected from the larger political struggles where I always situated the term.
Below is my attempt to reconnect translanguaging to these larger political struggles. I am not in any way suggesting that this attempt is the definitive attempt at defining translanguaging. Indeed, it is only when a concept is given a static definition that it truly loses its revolutionary potential. Instead, I offer some general comments based on my observations about how translanguaging has been taken-up at academic conferences to encourage an on-going dialogue about how we conceptualize the term in educational linguistics.
In this tutorial we explain how you can install and set up a WordPress Multisite to build a network of websites. We assume that you already installed a WordPress Single Site. Moreover we assume you have FTP access to the directory of your WordPress installation, as you need to change some files.
They are an excellent option for users with a limited budget. Furthermore, they are available in the WordPress.org theme directory, requiring them to pass a strict review process. As a result, users can be confident about their quality and security.
Keep in mind: WordPress security is about risk reduction, not risk elimination. Because there will always be risk, securing your WordPress site will remain a continuous process, requiring frequent assessment of attack vectors and threats.
It is natural for students to lose attention during an explanation. In this post, I share two of the highest leverage strategies you can use to secure 100% attention. I explain why this should be our goal in my previous post.
Thank you as well for this interesting summary, I am sure it will be very useful for me in the future. Especially about Web 4.0, I will definitely be following from now on how this will progress in the future.
We are often asked about features that are available on self-hosted WordPress installations versus what is available through UCI Sites. We have a comparison table below to help explain the differences.
