A firmware is an IPSW file that contains everything needed to run the core operating system, iOS. Beta firmwares have also been released, but require an Apple Developer account to acquire. To check for updates, iTunes contacts itunes.apple.com.

Apple TV firmwares have two different version and build numbers, which can lead to confusion when referencing them. As such, the internal build number is the best way to refer to a specific firmware.

Now as a Computer Science student, I would like to know how they are able to find such things in the firmware / IPSW file. Do they just extract the firmware (which you can just do on a Mac without any special software) and look through the files or are they using special programs and terminal commands to find these things?

When you perform a restore, your computer will download the latest compatible firmware version and install it, erasing everything else that was on your phone. Afterward, you can restore your stuff from a backup. It is generally not possible to use this mechanism to revert to an older version of iOS, because Apple stops signing old images as new ones are released.

When was the last time you updated the camera's firmware. The 5D Mark IV is up to firmware version 1.4.0 now. Which will allow the camera to send images to Canon's cloud storage service. This also solves connectivity problems too.

I have 5(!) iXpand Flash Drives (all updated with the lastest firmware 4.4.7) and have tried them on both iPhone and iPad with iOS 9.2. None of them are able to find the actual pictures or videos inside the folders on my iPhone/iPad, just the maps where the picture and video files are.

I just purchased a used Phantom 4 that has been sitting over a year , the battery is toast I guess as it will not take a charge,? The problem I am concerned about however is that when I used one of my other batteries and got the drone ready it required a firmware upgrade. I performed the upgrade as per instructions and all seemed well linking the controller to the drone etc , but have no video shown on my tablet or phone. The drone will start and flies fine with both video and still photos recording to the SD card and the gimbal seems to be functioning normally. I have checked a few other sites and YouTube and this seems to be a common problem. I tried R n R the DJI GO App from DJI Assistant 2, but as some others have said all goes well with the upgrade until the upgrade gets to 99% which it stays at for a while and likely then gets timed out? it basically says my internet has been interrupted or the likes, but I have decent internet that is stable. Others have said if you restart the controller it finishes the download no problem? none of these things have helped so I have a useless drone at the moment .I also have a Phantom 4 Advanced now for a couple of years so not a total Newbie to the fact that the DJI 4 go app has been problematic . I am hoping that someone on here can help me fix it as it seems to be a software glitch rather then a hardware problem in my opinion. Please help Thanks.

Have you ever meet with this kind of issue that iPhone stuck on restoring firmware? My problem is when i flash the firmware to i phone se and it is done . i see the error while the apple logo is appear and stop in half of firmware extrecting line is stopping . So can anybody help me please? ....
