Dear list,
Yes we are a bit behind on support these days, this time influenza helping, apologies for this.
Single user means a single computer running FoxTrot Pro (including background indexing) at any given time. So if you use FoxTrot Personal or Pro on two separate computers, only one of which has an indexer (background indexing) and/or FoxTrot Pro application open at any given time, that is OK with us.
If you need to be able to use both simultaneously, a second license is in order.
As a hint, we do point out that our pricing structure has been designed so that the cost of a second single license (EUR 99) equates to the upgrade cost of the first single license to a 5 station multi-user license, with a substantial bonus: the ability to perform client-server cross-searching (peer to peer) across mutually shared folders indexed by FoxTrot Pro. This allows simultaneous, one-stop searches of both machines and consolidated results in either one as long as the other volume is also shared and mounted using the systems File Sharing feature.
To step up to this functionality, use the FoxTrot application menu’s Step Up functionality for best results.
Kind regards,
