This is a summary of the meeting of the Fox Valley (WI) Area Teachers of Psychology held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Neenah High School.

We would like to thank Eileen for going above and beyond the call of duty to obtain this exclusive look at the new Myers 9th edition just released in January 2009.
• Gerry Palmer palmtr...@yahoo.com of Psychkits at http://www.psychkits.com sent us a pair of goggles that they sell at PsychKits. Thanks Gerry for providing the goggles, which were given away at the end of the meeting. • Forty Studies that Changed Psychology (6th edition) by Roger Hock published by Prentice Hall www.phschool.com. Everyone attending the meeting received a copy of this just released 2009 edition courtesy of Kevin Kuckkan of Prentice Hall (866-340-3692) kevin....@phschool.com We would like to especially thank Kevin for keeping us on the cutting edge of what Prentice Hall has to offer psychology teachers.
• Biological Psychology (9th edition) by James Kalat from Thomson/Wadsworth. Not only did Katie Golem, the College Prep Sales Specialist at McDougall-Littell, (800-323-5435 ex. 3870) katie...@hmco.com send copies for everyone at our meeting, but each book included an Exploring Biological Psychology CD-ROM.
• Psychology: Making Connections 1e by Gregory J. Feist and Erika L. Rosenberg from McGraw-Hill provide the tools for students to make meaningful connections with the material encompassed in Introductory Psychology while still presenting psychology as a scientific endeavor. Everyone attending received a copy of this text through the generosity of Keith Ahrens, the Glencoe representative (920-766-7627) keith_...@mcgraw-hill.com. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date Keith!
• The new Concise Dictionary of Psychology http://books.apa.org/books.cfm?id=4311009 and Favorite Activities for the Teaching of Psychology http://books.apa.org/books.cfm?id=4316105 edited by Ludy Benjamin. A special thanks goes to Martha Boenau MBo...@apa.org from the APA's Education Directorate for her work in getting these resources for our meeting. Also from Martha, Careers for the 21st Century, TOPSS Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic Psychology Modular Unit Lesson Plan, Fall 2008 Volume 18 Issue 3 of the PTN, National Standards for High School Psychology Curricula, and Conducting Psychological Research for Science Fairs.
