Dear all,

This is the announcement of a new release of FoX, the Fortran XML library. This release fixes one significant single character bug introduced in version 4.1.1 which stopped compilation with the --enable-dummy configure flag. The release also contains changes that allow FoX to be compiled with the Cray Fortran compiler or other strictly conforming Fortran 2008 compilers (see http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=49331 for discussion).

Compressed tar files can be downloaded from:

http://www1.gly.bris.ac.uk/~walker/FoX/source/

and updated documentation is available online:

http://www1.gly.bris.ac.uk/~walker/FoX/DoX

I would like to thank Elena Breitmoser (Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre, University of Edinburgh) for identifying the Cray compiler issue and finding its solution.

Best wishes,

Andrew
