This is from Barbara Nigri.  What I did was copy and paste each line and then it opened up.

Community Safety Means, every Person over 21 without out a Police Record or Mental Condition be required to carry a Hand Gun, and use it when conditions require.

By required, do you mean that should a person over 21 without a Police Record or mental Condition should have a gun or there will be retribution.  Is that what you mean by Required?  Required is a must. Just like it is required we wear our seat belts. I don't think so because this is the first time I heard about this requirement.  So if we are pulled over by the police and we do not have a gun we are in trouble.  Come on.

I was also wondering what this was about. Does this have anything to do with the July 9 meeting? I am housebound and will not be able to attend meetings, so I was hoping there would be some info here about the meeting. But I am confused by this talk of a gun being required.

This is Barbara Nigri.   Read on the bottom, the letter from
Baxter01 who said everyone is required to have a gun.  I wrote him back saying primarily this was bull, because there is no such requirement.

Hello;

Being that I sent the community safety information, as I mentioned in
the original message most of the Crime Watch Committee discussion
centered about safety issues, and the need to improve a working
relationship with the police. The message being referred to came in
response to my original message.

As we all know we have freedom of expression and it's my
interpretation that the writer's opinion is his interpretation of
community safety.

Your interpretation of community safety is complete irresponsible. And if this is what you believe then I think all of us are in trouble.  Someone like you walking around with a gun and thinks at some point he should use it is just stupid.  I think you should keep your interpretations to yourself since you are probably the only one who would even think of such a thing.  Barbara

This gun crap has to STOP!!!!!
This is NOT what the committee is about and this is NOT what this web sight is to be used for.

I agree with Florette. This gun talk must be stopped. I know it was taken out of text but it is confusing to people. This blog was meant as a tool for all to stay informed on the issues and as a way to stay in contact with each other on things pertaining to our community. This blog is not a tool to carry on conversations. This should be done with private emails. Keep in mind when you hit reply all can see. Have a great night and thanks for all your dedication to making our community a better place.

Although I was trying to set this guy straight, you got it the mail to. You and Florette will not see another email from me.  However since you and Florette know the person who started this and you also know that all this open mail goes to everyone, then you should have addressed your mail personally to that person and I guess to me if you wished for me to stop writing him. He had a bad idea and I wanted to change it. And Florette it was not taken out of context if you read his original mail.  But as I said, if you ever want
a response from me,. address it to me.  Do I sound angry, yes.   Barbara
