Hello --

We were looking at adding foursquare support to Kinoma Play. The API
looks clean and easy to use. And the functionality would fit nicely
with our Twitter application.

Unfortunately, the API license would seem to prohibit that:

Foursquare ... grants Licensee... [a] license to download
and use the Foursquare application program interface.. to
develop, reproduce and distribute non-commercial applications.

Licensee may not install or use the API for any other purpose
(including
without limitation any commercial purpose) without Foursquare's
prior written consent

And, there doesn't appear to be any information about how to obtain
written consent.

Can you help?

Thanks

I'm interested in this too. I'm working on a mobile application where
we will incorporate location-awareness and a checkin concept, and
would like to built atop Foursquare as a platform, if possible.

Cheers,
Jason

as i mentioned in the other thread:

for now, yes, you're free to go ahead and use it anyway you want --
commercial/paid apps too

the language in the terms of service will be updated shortly (waiting
for confirmation)
