PugRescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. Our mission is simple: we find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in the six New England states and special consideration is given as well for states that border New England. Please ask us, we are willing to help!

Kentuckiana Pug Rescue (KPR) is a volunteer-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue organization (permit #P15-001003) committed to helping all needy Pugs in the states of Indiana and Kentucky. We work to place abandoned or surrendered Pugs in loving forever homes where they can live out the rest of their lives. Each rescued Pug lives with a foster family until they can be placed in a permanent adoptive home.

We had an amazing experience with Pughearts! The process was thorough (which I appreciated). The volunteers and organization are extremely passionate about their rescue dogs and their well being. We are so grateful for our fur babies and for Pughearts!

This was our first adoption from Pug Hearts and we couldn't be more impressed! We live out of state and Pug Hearts went above and beyond to come and inspect our home. Every step of the way all the volunteers I worked with were kind and quick to answer all my many questions through the adoption process. When I flew to Houston to meet the pug we were hoping to adopt, my flight was significantly delayed and our pug's foster mom took the next day off just so I could come meet with her! Our pug came to us in great health, fully checked by the Pug Hearts vet team, with detailed vet records for her continued care. We continue to stay in touch with the volunteers and our Pug's foster mom sending updates and sharing stories,. Not only did we add the sweetest pug girl to our family, we feel like we came away with new friends! We will always adopt from Pug Hearts from now on and highly recommend them for your family too!

We had an excellent experience working with Pug Hearts Houston. Everyone we spoke with and worked with was very nice and answered all of our questions quickly. Ann was awesome about coming to do the home visit for us since we live in a remote location in Colorado. Karen was awesome about giving us all the information we needed and making sure our pup was all set to travel back from Houston. We would recommend Pug Hearts for anyone looking to help find a pug a forever home!

We adopted a pug in 2020 from Pug Hearts. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this rescue! Our pug had been found wandering the streets , was underweight and had severe behavioral issues. His foster mother worked with him for 4 months to get him ready to come home with us. Not only did we get a new family member but I made a great friend as well. They take in pugs of any age with any medical problem and provide them with not only the medical care they need but the love they deserve. No pug is left behind.

PugHearts is an amazing rescue. They are extremely thorough in the application process and truly care about the well-being of every single animal that they help. The organization has a wonderful group of volunteers, donors, and Fosters. The intake coordinator and the Director are absolutely wonderful to communicate with. They are very knowledgeable and caring. I have adopted three pugs from them and anytime I have questions or concerns they are quick to reply with a solution. Hands-down the best rescue in the entire world!!

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities.

Pug Nation volunteers provide care and compassion to our pugs, assist staff, introduce adoptable dogs to the public, help at community adoption events, and contribute in many other meaningful ways to support every aspect of our organization.

Participants at a new volunteer orientation must be registered to attend. After you submit your volunteer application, you will be provided with information and a link to register for an upcoming orientation. Our sessions often reach capacity and we are not able to accept walk-ins.

Yes. We require all applicants to attend a new volunteer orientation prior to volunteering at Pug Nation. At the orientation, you will learn about our mission, programs and various volunteer opportunities, including operations and procedures required to be carried out for the safety of our pugs.

You do not need to have any formal experience with another animal rescue or even have had a pug of your own, but we do make the assumption that you are comfortable being around dogs and have a general understanding of the pug breed.

Volunteers must sign up in advance on our online portal when they want to volunteer at the facility. We welcome a limited number of volunteers daily between 12pm and 4pm. Unless otherwise requested, we do not allow volunteers at the facility before 12pm or after 4pm.

All volunteers must be signed up to be at the facility. Your friend or family member must also be a registered volunteer (submitted an application and attended orientation) and have signed up to be there as well. Please do not bring any guests with you.

Yes! We host regular adoption fairs at Tailwaggers in West Hollywood and also participate in many other community events throughout the year (see calendar for upcoming dates) where we especially need volunteer help.

We are not often able to accommodate one-time volunteer groups but do review requests on a case-by-case basis depending on our current projects and the work the volunteer group is able to assist with. Please email in...@pugnationla.org if you have a special request or able to offer project assistance.

Once we receive your application, we will call you to arrange a home visit. If you are out of area we can visit via Skype or FaceTime. If you rent we need landlord permission. For a $25 fee, we inspect your home for safety issues and we will chat to get to know you and how you plan to care for your Pug. After inspection, we will contact you to let you know if you are approved and the $25 fee will go towards adoption.

Once you choose your Pug and he/she is ready to go, you will be sent home with everything you need to get started including any necessary medicines, transition food and all available records. No Pug goes home until they are spayed or neutered, shots are up-to-date and they are microchipped. Bring a leash and harness on pick up day or you can purchase ours here.

Once approved, an appointment to visit our facility is necessary to pick out your Pug. We are generally open from 12-4pm Monday through Friday; for weekend adoptions we ask that you attend one of our Adoption Fairs or Events to adopt. We will make special arrangements for adopters coming from out of town.

When you work in the rescue community, you tend to grow a little used to horror stories and human cruelty toward animals. Sometimes you shake your head at how human minds work and often you feel disgust at the heartlessness of people. Sometimes it has to do with neglectful owners or the Amish and their puppy mills.

Dog and cats of all varieties, often family pets, are snatched from their families. Still wearing their collars, they are forced in to very small cages and transported great distances without food or water. When they reach their final destination at dog meat markets, they are forced to witness other dogs being bludgeoned to death or tossed still alive into vats of boiling water to remove their skins.

We at Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue, Inc. are a group of diverse individuals who have united for the purpose of rescuing Pugs. We come from many walks of life, and have agreed to donate our many and varied talents so that pugs everywhere can live out their lives with comfort, love and care.

We are proud of the way we have built this organization. We have determined that our common welfare and the welfare of the pug breed must come first. Our leaders are but trusted servants, in that they do not govern. There is no power structure, just a service structure.

We allow, and strongly encourage participation in other groups, rescues, and shelters, as it is the best way to strengthen the rescue effort and make sure that our motto is upheld: "Letno pug go unloved."

Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue, Inc is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to providing for the short and long term needs of abandoned or surrendered pugs. We give rescued pugs veterinary care, a nurturing foster environment, and permanent placement into a loving home. In addition, we offer education to the public on the special responsibilities of pug ownership and the need for domestic animal population control.

Georgia Peach Pug Rescue Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue organization serving the state of Georgia. Our organization is run completely by volunteers, and we are a foster-based organization. Our purpose is to rescue pugs from a variety of situations, and since we do not have a facility, instead our pugs live in volunteer foster homes until their permanent home can be identified. While in foster care, our pugs receive the emotional, behavioral, medical, and nutritional care necessary to enhance their quality-of-life and prepare them for transition to their permanent home.
