So to preface, I'm relatively new to Dropbox, and only got it for a couple work gigs. But the moment it had access to my computer, it started creating a backup I think? Which, with only 2 GB of Dropbox Basic storage, there was no way it could do that with the 200+GB of stuff on my computer. So naturally it filled up pretty quickly, and I paused the sync.
At this point I try to free up some space, so I go to the dropbox folder in my Mac, select the attempted backup of my computer, and delete it. I think it was then that the folders disappeared, but I didn't notice until I was in the Dropbox system preferences trying to make it stop creating automatic backups...tried to deselect the Desktop, Downloads, and Documents folders and save, but then a message popped up saying the folders couldn't be located...
So now this morning comes around, and the folders(Desktop, Downloads, Documents) are back on my computer, along with all my personal folders inside them, but all of my actual DOCUMENTS...all my pdfs of taxes, all pictures, work documents.. are just GONE. Can anyone help me out? where did all my actual files go and how do I get them back??

First off, thank you so much for helping out! None of the files were in the Deleted files page, and I found a zip file of my downloads folder in the trash, ...moved it to my desktop, but opening it revealed it to be a copy of what I found on my computer this morning...all the folders, but all of them are empty. I put some screenshots here with different folders selected as examples..no files in any of them..in fact aside from a couple screenshots I took earlier today. This is how all the folders in my Documents and Desktop tabs look as well..empty!
Update: I found a handful of folders in my Desktop folder that still have files! It's very strange tho..it's as if everything that hadn't synced with Dropbox yet by the time I messed with it got deleted, but whatever small amount of files HAD synced got saved...
I initially searched through Finder and came up with nothing, just the My Mac folder that has all the missing files.., BUT I decided just to look in the Trash and lo and behold, a hidden My Mac with a different icon appeared..I attached a screenshot of after I dragged it back to my desktop. I opened it up and everything is there! All the files, everything! So many thanks for helping me find this. This is a great weight off my shoulders going forward.
I do have one final question! Now that I've found this folder, where is it's proper home space on my computer? Does it go somewhere in Macintosh HD? Someplace else? Basically how do I overwrite/consolidate the folders with missing data currently in my Finder with these new/old folders that have everything?
After using Dropbox yesterday my desktop folder and download folder disappeared from finder on my Macbook Pro. When I start using Dropbox it started to sync and I stopped it, emptied my trash and deleted the files in the sync folder. After this my desktop and download folder where gone in Finder. I searched in hidden files but no desktop of download folders anymore. When going to dropbox.com I see the folders there and have no idea how to get them back to my HD on my Mac. Please let me know how to get the folders back on my Mac. Thank you
CGS is terrifying; CGS is liberating. To appreciate CGS in all its myriad forms is to let go, to cede control, to find the pleasure in the pain of existence and succumb to it wholly. That, my friends, is crispy-gone soggy. And it is everything.

my entire site is missing, everything I set up (before it goes live) is missing. The trash and my account has no record of my log in history either. The chat support can't help. What else can I do to find my content?
Hi, I came across a problem. One of my pages on my site had some content and now it is all gone. I have not touched this page or deleted anything. Has anyone had this problem before and is there a way I can get this back without redoing it?

When I tried to use my virtual backgrounds today all my choices are gone except blur and none. Can't figure out what happened. I checked my settings and my options were correct. I then signed out and back in. When I did that Zoom mentioned that there recently was a sign in from different location. I don't think I did that since I usually use same computer. To get back in I had a code. Could these issues be related?
Secondly, please know you can be signed in to Zoom on one computer, one tablet, and one phone at a time. If you sign into an additional device while logged into another device of the same type, you will be logged out automatically on the first device. Fix sign-in issues if you are having trouble signing in to Zoom on your desktop, mobile, or browser.
Updating the Zoom client shouldn't remove account set settings nor remove virtual backgrounds unless an Admin or Owner on the account changed the settings within the Zoom Web Portal, or you have made those changes.
Just happened to me. Signed in and everything except Blur is gone. All my custom backgrounds ... gone. Tried a few things that had been suggested in other forums but nothing so far has made a difference. So annoying!!!
I hear you! I just signed in one day and the only thing that was there was blur. I made sure to update Zoom and also tried it on another computer. I was able to replace one of my own backgrounds but all the ones Zoom usually offers just disappeared.
This response is a ridiculous boilerplate response that doesn't address our issue. No, we have not all been hacked, and if we had been, why would the only effect be for each of us on this thread to have their custom background images deleted, and not something where a hacker does more serious damage to our Zoom account or computer. RN, your useless answer insults our intelligence.
You want to put new backgrounds, by clicking on the plus and attaching a file. You may want to keep your background (files) saved on your computer, just in case it happens again. This also happened to me and I suspect it's because I was signing in and out, and attending meeting in both status.
With the recent web UI update I can't find a way to search for an athlete or segment. These 2 features are gone forever or I can expect to have them back? I think they are essential to have and it is not nice to remove them without any communication.
They moved the athlete search, but it is still there. You just have to click on the magnifying glass symbol near the top left side of the page. It will pull up a search option pulldown menu to search for Athletes, Clubs, or Segments. See the link below for details:
@Crone_t - When you click on the "maps" button in the app (second from the left on the bottom), you have to look toward the top of the map screen to see the button that days "Routes" with a little down arrow. Click on the word "Routes" and it should cause a thing to pop up at the bottom of the screen where you can select between Routes and Segments. Click on the segments radio button and you should start to see segments on the map. Zoom in to see more of them. Also use the buttons at the top to adjust the length, elevation and surface type for the segments to further narrow them down.
