I'm a clicker! But, I've been trying to keybind lately, just to give the gameplay a different feel with some of my alts and I was curious how most keybinders handled their basic attack. As the default, right clicking makes you use your basic attack move. I kind of like this (feels a little like an action console game, lol), but I find that I'm wasting some GCDs this way due to basic attacking a little too much (plus I accidentally loot during combat sometimes). Should I bind my basic attack else where and just leave the right click spot empty on my quick bars? Or stick with the right clicking and try to master it? This whole process is bizarre to me, because like I said, I've been clicking for 7 or 8 years.

Also, due to normally using the arrow keys for movement (in combo with the mouse for strafing), I figured out kind of an odd way to do my keybinding.... I use the number pad on the right. I currently have my frequently used abilities on 0, 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and "." with some other, less frequently used abilities mapped to 6, 8 and 9....

Nothing should be done with your mouse if you looking for "elitest" performance. maybe targeting because tab targeting never really works well in any mmo. but anythign your using for damage hsoudl be keybound.

there are 22 keys within a decent reach of your left hand. Q-T, A-G, Z-B, `-6. all of which can have 4 mod keys. CTRL, ALT,SHIFT, CAPS.. yes caps is a legit mod key. that gives you 88 possible key combinations. no class in game even comes close to that amount of abilities, and as you don't have macro's to key in focus target cast buttons that pretty much settles that.

get used to using the shift, ctrl modifiers. they help you immensely. most classes in game don't really use that many different buttons. the Jedi knight in my experience is a different story there i fill 3 full hot bars with ability i use ALL The time.

Bind every ability you have to something. it might take ea little while to remember all of them. but once you do you will find yourself a better player for it. gone are the days that you see someone. target them then go down to find an ability and look back to the action to find them gone cause it took you between .25-1.5 seconds to find that key again.

I also have other skills set to the shift, alt or ctrl key combo. My heals are set to alt commands on one quickbar, but with a Shift+alt+4 I can switch that to main quickbar and then go back to an attack set on the main again with Shift+alt+1 input.

TGFH allows your had the use of the entire keyboard where as WSAD limits you to the left side. You can slso still use the ALT + functions with TGFH so you pretty much have access to twice as many key binds as WSAD.

The WSAD fan boys will be here soon to try and prove me wrong but if you look at your keyboard not and put your hand on WSAD, check out how far to the right you can easily reach...for me it's "G" Now put your hands on TGFH and you will find you can reach all the keys around WSAD and as far as "K" on the far right, you can't argue with that

I would *love* to be able to remap right click on hostile to be *companion* attack target, (which is the only use I could possibly see for it, since there is no autoattack) but that doesn't seem to be possible.

I would argue for using ESDF instead, gives you the use of shift and ctrl as modifiers while expanding the buttons available on the left side of your hand by one step. To me it's more natural then your suggestion and the "normal" WASD position.

The problem with your method is your hands are too far away from the Shift/Ctrl/Alt keys to effectively use those modifiers without moving your hand. If you use WASD or ESDF you can access both the Shift and Ctrl keys relatively easy without moving your hand. WASD/ESDF are more natural, also, because most people use the left hand to only reach the left side of the keyboard while typing and tend to have a really good muscle memory for reaching specific keys quickly without having to relearn how to type.

I'm not gonna say that you are doing it wrong and that some other set-up is better BUT... you do realize that by moving to TGFH you are losing ctrl and shift modifiers and because of that you don't have anywhere near twice as many key binds. Unless you have a very mobile and long pinky finger that is

On topic: binds are a very personal and subjective "affair". Everyone should use w/e they feel more comfortable with because everyone is different. From hand size to "usual" hand positioning on the keyboard to dexterity.

For example i have a friend with huge hands / long fingers and he can push 8 or j w/o moving hes hand from wasd but he has big problems with using modifiers. On the other hand i can't reach further than 6 or g but i can use ctrl, alt, shift w/o any problems so all my key binds have triple modifiers (not very useful in this game due to no macros / lack of abilities but it comes in handy for other games / activities)

Another thing to note is that key binds are all about muscle memory. Just like when we all started using a keyboard we had to search every letter to type and after years of using it we can just do it w/o even looking at it. It's just practice and after a while (more or less depending on the person) it just feels natural.

Does anyone know a way to configure Windows 7 or use third party software to do this? I would like to click my middle mouse button and have it tell Windows to left click and hold until I click the middle mouse button again. A keyboard key would be fine as well.

Some games and apps have me holding down the left mouse button for a long time and I would like to reduce the stress on my mouse hand. Also, I would like to do a similar thing but have it repeatedly click the left mouse button automatically if possible.

There is a brilliant free open source successor of project fastclicker resides at sourceforge too. It is called "The Windows Intel Fastest Mouse Clicker" (google it). That application uses modern SendInput() system call instead of obsolete mouse_event() in fastclicker. Also "The Windows Intel Fastest Mouse Clicker" is heavily optimized with Intel C/C++ compiler 15.0.

Adjusting the mouse speed: Double click on one of the .reg files andrestart the program to change the mouse speed. For instancedouble-click on SlowMouseSpeed.reg and restart the program if youthink the mouse speed of mouse emulator is too high.

I use The Windows Intel Fastest Mouse Clicker too. A week ago they fixed a bug, and this app is 100 times faster now than FastClicker by xytor mentioned above by Michael (with the bug it was 10 times faster).

Here is my problem:

For whatever reason sometimes F4 remains active on right click instead of F5 Teleport.

So i try to teleport out of a pack but it doenst tele since right click is now permanently F4 Blizzard.

To change that i need to selecto the right clicker in the menu bar and choose Teleport again.

Hi,

I have the same problem with my sorc.

I also use quick cast and the skill I keep on the right-click changes from time to time for no apparent reason.

I have a corsair keyboard and razer mouse if that helps.

I have a similar problem with my paladin. I have auras bound to 1, 2, and 3, and Smite bound to right click. The scroll wheel kept cycling through auras though, so I remapped the scroll wheel functions, except now when I hit 1, 2, or 3 it changes my right click to that spell. I reset the keybinds to default (both types) but the bug remains.

Following on from the other Snowboard post. I got my Burton Charger in 98 and bought K2 Clicker bindings that I'd demoed the year before. Soon after I got them they seemed to disappear. What happened to them and why? I've seen nothing since that seems to hold a candle to them in usability. Every other boot/binding system seems to be a giant PIA to use. I get to the top of the lift, stomp into my click, bend down to do up the safety and I'm off. Every single other boot binding system seems to require stopping, sitting your ass down and getting in the way and faffing about. This is especially noticeable being in Michigan where runs tend to be short, other people waste a lot of time getting their asses wet and cold while i wait.
