OK-432, a streptococcal preparation with potent biological response modifying activities, had the ability to cure mice bearing BAMC-1 (fibrosarcoma) ascites when it was injected intraperitoneally five times, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 days after the tumor inoculation. Previously, it was shown that the OK-432 injection on day 2 was indispensable since only a minimal antitumor effect was obtained when an inflammation-inducing agent such as thioglycolate instead of OK-432 was injected on day 2, followed by four OK-432 injections on days 4, 6, 8 and 10. In the present study, the injection of OK-432 on day 2 and a subsequent injection of either IL-2 or IFN-gamma on day 4 or 6 showed a significant antitumor effect, achieving a complete cure in approximately 50% of mice treated, although none of the mice could be cured by a single injection of either OK-432, IL-2, or IFN-gamma on day 2. Interestingly, however, the mice treated with an injection of a lymphokine (IL-2 or IFN-gamma) on day 2 followed by OK-432 on day 4 were not cured either. Peritoneal cells on day 12 in mice treated with OK-432 and either of the lymphokines contained pantropic killer cells, which were Thy-1+ and asialo GM1+ (AsGM1+). Moreover, the antitumor effect of the combined treatment was abolished when mice were pre-treated with anti-AsGM1. No significant antitumor effect was observed in athymic nu/nu mice. Together with our previous findings, these results indicate that lymphokines induced by OK-432 administration may account for some of its therapeutic effects and that these lymphokines may also facilitate the subsequent induction of specific killer cells. These results warrant further investigation on possible effective therapeutic protocols with the combined use of OK-432 and lymphokines.

Mega Millions is a multi-state jackpot game. Drawings are held at 10 p.m. CST every Tuesday and Friday. Draw sales end at 9:45 p.m. CST Tuesday and Friday. Five numbered balls are drawn from 1 to 70 and one numbered ball is drawn from 1 to 25. If all your numbers match those that are drawn, you win the jackpot, which starts at an amount set by MUSL and grows until someone wins. If other players also match all six numbers, the prize will be shared in equal amounts. Each Mega Millions play is $2. For an additional dollar, you can add the Megaplier option to multiply non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times.
Q: Is it possible for the Megaball number to be the same as one of the five white ball numbers?
A: Yes. The five white ball numbers and the one Megaball number are drawn from separate sets of balls, so the Megaball number could be the same as one of the white ball numbers.
Q: What is the Megaplier?
A: Megaplier can be added to any Mega Millions play as an option to increase non-jackpot winnings up to five times. A multiplier of 2, 3, 4 or 5 is randomly selected during the drawing for determining Megaplier prizes.
Q: Can I enter non-winning Mega Millions tickets in Points for Prizes?
A: Yes. Winning and non-winning numbers from terminal-generated games like Mega Millions are eligible. Visit to enter and add Points for Prizes points to your account. Points for Prizes codes from terminal-generated games not associated with a draw must be entered within 180 days of purchase date whereas draw related games are based on the last draw date printed on the front of the ticket. Look for the 20 digit Points for Prizes Code.
Q: Can I purchase Mega Millions tickets in advance?
A: To play multiple upcoming draws, request from 2 to 20 Multi Draws either on the playslip or through the retailer. Multi Draws will include the next upcoming draw and be consecutive from that draw. Draws cannot be skipped.
Q: Do I have to match the numbers in the exact order drawn?
A: No. The order of the five white balls drawn does not matter, but the Megaball must match the Megaball number on the ticket.
Q: Can I redeem a winning Mega Millions ticket in any state?
A: Although the winning numbers are the same in all Mega Millions states, a ticket must be redeemed in the state in which it was purchased.
Q: I lost my ticket. Can I claim a prize with a playslip or store receipt?
A: Mega Millions prizes can only be claimed with a ticket printed from the lottery terminal. Playslips or store receipts will not constitute proof of purchase. Lottery tickets are bearer instruments, meaning the person who presents the ticket for claim will be presumed to be the owner. Always sign the back of any lottery ticket immediately. If you lose a ticket before you sign it, you no longer have valid ownership of the ticket.
Q: If the Megaball is drawn from a set of 25 balls, why are the odds of winning with just the Megaball not 1 to 25?
A: The odds of winning the $2 prize for matching just the Megaball are 1 in 37 because the odds are a combination of 1.) matching the Megaball and 2.) not matching any of the white ball numbers. The odds of matching the Megaball and one white ball are 1 in 89.
Q: Why does a jackpot winner receive a smaller amount than the advertised jackpot?
A: The advertised jackpot is the total amount won if a winner selects an annuity over 30 annual payments (29 years). The amount of cash on hand is actually less than that and the advertised jackpot is what the cash on hand would total if invested over the 29 years. If a player chooses a lump sum, the player does not receive the interest that the cash on hand would have earned over 29 years. Applicable withholding taxes will also be deducted.
Enter your numbers in the boxes below and click "Check My Tickets." We'll search the past 180 days to see if these numbers have been drawn as part of a winning combination. You may check up to five plays at a time. Individual plays are listed in order of A, B, C, etc., on your ticket.
The top prize for the Powerball lottery has now soared to $1 billion, with a cash option of $516.8 million, for the next drawing on Wednesday, July 19. The jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is the third largest in Powerball history.
Yes. If you buy five tickets with different numbers, you are five times more likely to win than buying just one. But, keep in mind, this is like saying you need to flip heads 28 straight times. Try it. In fact, try it five times. Try it 100 times. You are amazingly unlikely to get it any single time. So, the odds are more likely but still very unlikely.
You are almost 300 times more likely to get hit by lightning in your lifetime than win Mega Millions. If you bought 300 tickets, only then would you have the same chances as getting hit by lightning in your lifetime.
Second, while someone will win, it simply can take time given how unlikely it is. The odds are made high enough to make the game compelling and get winners JUST enough that we have hope in the improbable and, frankly, it makes it fun.
Minneapolis has had a flourishing population of East African immigrants since at least the 1990s, and mosques now are common. Three of 13 members of the council identify as Muslim. The decision drew no organized community opposition. Mayor Jacob Frey is expected to sign the measure next week.
Three years ago, city officials worked with the Dar Al-Hijrah mosque to allow the adhan to be broadcast outdoors five times daily during Ramadan. Prayers are said when light appears at dawn, at noon, at mid- to late afternoon, at sunset and when the night sky appears. In Minnesota, dawn arrives as early as before 5:30 a.m. in summer, while sunset at the solstice happens after 9 p.m.
When it comes to your diet, you face a laundry list of advice. Until recently, that advice included a caution about potentially allergy-inducing foods. In 2000, the American Academy of Pediatrics advised allergy-prone moms to avoid peanuts and tree nuts during pregnancy to help prevent their babies from getting allergies. They extended the warning to breastfeeding, adding cow's milk, eggs, and fish to the list.
But times have changed, and so has the thinking about allergy prevention. "The incidence of food allergies, particularly peanuts, has increased since those recommendations," says Frank R. Greer, MD, professor of pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin. "The idea of avoiding peanuts was based on deduction, but it seems like that wasn't a good idea."
"Mothers don't need to avoid any of these allergic foods. If anything, they might be beneficial," Greer says. One recent study found that non-allergic mothers who ate peanuts or tree nuts five times a week or more were less likely to have a baby with a nut allergy. The new thinking is that introducing foods early might help an infant build a tolerance to them, lowering the risk of allergies.
