Dear Friends, Family, Colleagues, or D) all of the above

I am writing you to inform you about a play I am working on this summer for the Hollywood Fringe Festival!

For those who don’t know, Hollywood Fringe is a theatre festival that happens every summer in the heart of Hollywood across multiple venues on Theatre Row. On average, over 200 companies participate in the festival.

My theatre company, The Attic Collective, is coming back to fringe with a new play, written by company member Veronica Tjioe, called The Last Croissant.

And we need your help! As you may or may not know, putting on a show takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and of course funding. We are a company of artists dedicated to creating vibrant, whimsical, thought-provoking, inclusive theatre and we are producing this all on our own. That means we don’t have a major producer footing the bill and we are raising the money on our own.

We decided to go the route of crowd-funding to try and raise our production budget. We are using Kickstarter to try and raise $8,500. This will go to space rental, design/production elements, marketing, and future projects for the company. We don’t want to have to ask for money for every project that we do, and this campaign is to help ensure that we are on the right track for that. The way Kickstarter works is that you set an amount of time to raise a certain amount of money. If you meet that goal: great, you get the donations! if you don’t however, you don’t get any of the donations and all the money goes back to the donors. We started our campaign on March 8th with a 30 day deadline. So far, we’ve raised a little over $5,000 and are over half way to our goal with 18 days to go. But we need a little push to make it to the end otherwise we won’t get any of the donated money.

I come to you asking for any donation you can manage if you do feel so inclined or are able to. I understand that money can be tight, and so if you are unable to, I totally get it. I ask at the very least you help spread the word.

This company has provided me with an artistic home where I feel excited and free to create and explore this craft. It would mean the world to me if you could help the future of this group.
