Dear
Jeremy,
My name is Franny Alfano, and I'm producing a short film that shoots in LA 3/22, directed by Jonny Look. The concept for the short is a sort of homage to the films of Jacques Tati and Roy Andersson.
Synopsis: The film follows one main character, a Hungry Businessman, who just wants to eat lunch, but everyone around him is copying the exact same thing he’s doing, pushing him into this dance. Every time our Hungry Businessman gets close to that bite, these dancers dance his sandwich out of reach! Throughout the course of the film dancers try to pull him away from his lunch in their balletic way, pulling him into their group. It’s a sort of purgatory isn’t it?
We're casting our lead talent, The Hungry Businessman (M 30-55), and are reaching out to people in the clowning community who might know someone who’d be a good fit for the role. Ideally, someone with some movement experience who’ll be comfortable playing with our dancers.
The current plan is to rehearse 3/21 and shoot 3/22.
It is a low budget, non-union film. We’ve asked cast and crew to all be on the same rate $175/10hr.
If you know anyone who might be a good fit for this part and is available on those dates, please let us know? Feel free to reach out with any specific questions about the shoot.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Franny Alfano
