July Update!

For All Artists:

Each month we select one of our artists and feature their work with a
link to their website on the Archive page. All artists who participate
in one of our exchanges are eligible to become future artists of the
month. Our current featured artist, Cristina Blank, has participated
in all of our Hand-Pulled Print Exchanges so far. Check out our
Archive page to see Christina’s three amazing prints and read the

If you are interested in joining an Exchange, sign-ups are now open
for our new set of quarterly Hand-Pulled Print Exchanges. ‘The
Classical Elements’ is made up of four themes; Earth, Water, Air and
Fire. Sign up for one or all of them. The first in the Series – Earth
is due October 15, 2008. Also, sign-ups are open for the Fruit
Alphabet Hand-pulled Print Exchange (Due January 2009).

We have added a Fine Arts Photography Exchange for those of you who
are also Photographers. [http://www.fouroceanspress.com/
exchange_photo.html] We are finishing up our first exchange
‘Movement’. The next in our series will be ‘The Classical Elements’
made up of four themes; Earth, Water, Air and Fire. Sign up for one or
all four of them. The first in the Series – Earth is due October 15,
2008.


A note about postage:

We have asked for each artist to include a self-addressed envelope
with
sufficient return postage. Most of our artists are including enough
postage for their prints, but all of the prints are on different
papers and vary in size and weight. Frequently more postage is
required for returning the completed print packages. Please make sure
that you include extra postage, extra stamps or extra money to cover
all postage.

We are doing these exchanges as a service to artists around the world
as part of our effort to build an artistic community. We are not able
to cover shipping costs or other extra expenses for all of the
artists. Nearly 150 artists have participated in our exchanges, so
far.


For Spring Exchange Artists:

You can expect your Spring exchange prints in the middle of next
week!!! We are so sorry for the extended delay. We will be mailing out
all of the Spring prints on Saturday morning minus a few slowpokes. We
were told (promised) by several artists that their prints were on
their way to us. We are trying to be patient with all of our artists
and give them the time they need, but some of them take advantage and
make our exchanges late. We know it is frustrating to have to wait so
long, but we promise all the Spring Prints will be on their way to you
this Saturday.


For Food Alphabet Artists:

Your Food prints were due 24 days ago… We are currently only missing
10 of the yummy foods. If you are one of the lingering Artists you
must get your prints to us before the end of July. Those of you who
were on time – we thank you for your extended patience while we wait
to get our full set in. It is important for all the 26 letters of the
Alphabet to be represented for us to have a completed Food Alphabet
Exchange. Our new scheduled return date will be the beginning of
August.


For Summer Exchange Artists:

The countdown continues… You now have 5 days to complete and mail your
prints to make the July 15th deadline! Our scheduled return date is
mid-August and it is very important to get your prints in as soon as
you can so that we have time to collate them and send them back to the
group in a timely manner.

Please send us an e-mail when you mail your prints so that we will
know when to expect them. We have a full exchange and the first two
prints are already on the Summer archive page. [http://

receive your prints we will scan them and put them up on the Summer
Archive page. The archived images will be permanently displayed with a
link to your website. You can check it frequently to see who has sent
in their prints and so that you will know for which artists we are
still waiting. As the archive page starts to fill up it means we are
getting closer to sending you your pile of amazing prints.


For Photographers:

Your final photo’s were due July 1st and as of today we are only
waiting for two more Photographers prints to arrive. We have been
told that all finial photo’s are on their way. Our scheduled return
date is the beginning of August and it very important to get your
prints in as soon as you can so that we have time to collate them and
send them back to the group in a timely manner.

Since there are only 14 participating Photographers in this exchange
you will all be getting back a few extra of your own prints. This
means, if you sent in the full set of 26, you will get back 11 of your
prints.

make a wonderful group.
