Hi Folks,

There have recently been reports of bears in the neighborhood and incidents of bears being inadvertently fed, likely by well-meaning folks.  To that end, as a reminder, be aware that in Colorado it is illegal to feed and/or intentionally attract bears. It is also illegal to fail to mitigate attractants once it is known that there is a bear in the area. Fines range from $139.50 to $2000.00, depending on severity.

See the attached flyer as a quick reminder about living with bears, plus more information on bears and living in bear country, go to the Colorado Parks & Wildlife website  at https://cpw.state.co.us/living-bears.

Additionally, local District Wildlife Manager Tyler Asnicar (Boulder N. District) can be reached at 720-357-4464, or via email at tyler....@state.co.us. Please feel free to reach out with any wildlife related questions or issues. For immediate, urgent assistance from a DWM, contact Colorado State Patrol non-emergency line at 303-239-4501 (option 2, then option 2 again) and ask for the on-call Wildlife Officer (available 24/7/365).
