I just installed parallels 18 with windows 11 on my Mac Air M1 (2020) 8GB 512GB. I allocated 4 CPUs and 4g RAM to VM. And I downloaded ArcGIS pro and installed on windows. I tried installing the software on Mac document file, on local disk(C:) and reinstallation, and rebooting, but the ArcGIS pro just would not open. There is no task on task manager when I click the ArcGIS pro icon after installation. I also downloaded the arm64 6.0.8 runtime windows desktop. I don't know what is the issue. Can someone help?

I don't think the current version of Parallels allows for that yet on a guest Monterey VM. Hopefully in a future release of parallels, we get the gear button back for Monterey VMs where we can configure more options like this again.

Got it. Yea, I believed its also possible to add the flags on a Big Sur VM and the upgrade it, but once Parallels knows its on Monterey, doesn't seem to give that option. Do you still see the gear icon past installation of Monterey when done this way?

I was unable to get the Pre-Stage to show on Parallels with Monterey. I followed the suggestions here and on this link however I was still unable to see the Pre-Stage on Parallels. I noticed at the bottom of the page it says 'If after changing the JAMF version and/or upgrading Parallels Desktop version the enrollment cannot be performed, delete a record for this VM asset in JSS under "Advanced Mobile Device Searches".'

I checked to see if the serial number I was using had a record in the Inventory section of Jamf which it did as this was a serial number from a liquid damaged Mac not worth repairing so that's why this would have been in our Inventory. I then deleted this record from Jamf and re-installed Monterey again then the Pre-Stage displayed and I was able to deploy the VM.

Hello, If this has been brought up already I apologize! New to the CNC world, ordered and elite Forman and my questions is am I better off buying a PC with windows to run Vcarve Pro or just use my current MacBook Pro with parallels to run it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I run Vetric under Parallels and it works well (Intel based iMac). Some of the keyboard commands can be a little odd, but overall no problem. Since you can test drive Parallels for a couple of weeks, try both in trial mode and see how you like it.

Sorry to hear Storyline is being sluggish. Parallels is a supported environment, so that definitely shouldn't happen. Our team uses the same set up (Mac + Parallels) and everything is running smoothly here.

Have a look at these tips, and let me know if adjusting your settings to those recommendations makes a difference. If not, reach out to our Support Engineers here. They'll work with you one on one to get this straightened out!

Hey, Joe, I can confirm that I have been experiencing the same issue in the last few weeks. It's almost like using a 10 year old computer. I click on an object in it takes 2 seconds before it registers. I also checked on my wife's computer running parallels and it's the same. Something is wrong.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I actually ditched Parallels several days ago and drug out an ancient Windows 7 laptop. It actually works faster. I may end up just buying a newer Windows laptop solely for Storyline since I can't get it to work fast enough on my Mac.

SL3 - mouse becomes unresponsive, drop down panels slow to appear, selecting items on screen hit and miss, mouse responses very hesitant, delays in moving content around screen, undoes do not seem to work. Followed guidance and applied settings, no difference - in fact increased graphics (2gb) memory and ram (8gb)

Add my name to the list of people experiencing extremely slow lag times when using Storyline 360 on Mac via Parallels. It definitely seems to be an issue caused by high-res jpg graphics. Whenever I'm using PNG's it seems to work much better.

Hi folks, investing one today, its the first time I have see something like this. I was pasting text from powerpoint into a Feedback dialogue - nothing happened so I closed the box and this happened...any thoughts

Hi Las. When you copied the text from PowerPoint, did you make sure to highlight only the text and not the actual text box? Copying an object from PowerPoint will likely paste it as an image in Storyline, and if you try to paste the image into a feedback box on Form view, you might see some odd behavior.

Only the text was selected. It seems to be a theme for me at the moment with Storyline 3 and parallels. Have been using this setup for a number of years now and this the worst experience I have had with the tool.

I have had a remote session with parallels support who reviewed my parallels installation and and after a one or two tweaks said the application works as it should. Their response that no other application is having this problem, so I would need to come back to you guys.

Not one for wanting to give up, I managed to source a "no longer" supported app for windows 10 'clipboard viewer' I found that there was some increase I performance if I cleared the clipboard (attached screenshot) every once in a while - saved me having to restart.

I think my next project is to look at graphics drivers and if they are up to date (windows). One of the bigger issues is the screen redraw/refresh within the application (storyline) and delay or miss hits on objects i.e. click one item and move which is ignored and picks up another item, response time when this happens varies from between 2 and 5 seconds. Clicking menu items or double clicking text boxes renders strange results or no response.

Hi Las. I'm sorry this has been such a struggle for you. I see that you opened a case with our support team, and that was exactly the move I would have suggested next. I connected this discussion to that case so they have a fuller history of your troubleshooting. I'm going to follow in the case as well and just make sure you get the help you need!

Hi Las. Just checking in with you. I see that Renato sent you some steps for doing a more complete reinstallation of Storyline 3. Hoping you're making out ok -- please feel free to reply back to Renato with any changes since completing those steps.

I have done ALL the optimisations, turned off coherence and folder sharing, run locally on the C drive. It is like using a 486 in the nineties. The project is tiny (less than 1mb) with only vector graphics from inside storyline. No images.

Copy and pasting/dragging/adding states/switching between timeline and state view. Everything takes 2-3 seconds, often disappearing. Or I click and it's moved or gone. Are there any workable ways around this?

Unfortunately as I finished this work for the then client. I then to went to my next client who wasn't as forgiving (or patient), I lost the contract had to ditch part way through. Their expectations were a lot higher and I really couldnt meet them on that occasion.

I think because of the inconsistencies I was suffering platform wise, I have had to revert to another tool to get me by for the time being, as the risk vs reward of buying new equipment was not something I could invest in at the time.

Can you please let me know how the device appears in the device manager? Does it appear like an unknown device?

Please provide a screenshot of the same.

Also, are you seeing this issue only with the kitprog device or is this issue there for any other USB device?

Best Regards
Ekta

Attached should be a screenshot of the device manager. You can seeThe Kitprog appears as it should, However, within the 'devices and printers' control panel dialog, kitprog seems to be doing something strange - it will appear, disappear then reappear in a constant loop - as if it is resetting? This is often accompanied by the kitprog mode light flickering erratically too.

Parallels ask for permission to connect to Cypress KitPRog. After selecting yes, I see USB Serial Device (COM4, but I do not see kitprog ) under Ports(COM &LPT). Interestingly I do not see USB devices (as shown above), only USB controllers.

Some background: I am a professor at SJSU and I am using the Cyscope PSoC system to introduce transfer students to PSoC in a low-cost manner, but I did not realize that many students have MACs, and I asking them to buy a PC is not very low cost. (Sorry if this is too much information.) I have looked a the parallels website but it is slow going.
