All,

I see we have some new members.  Welcome!  I'm excited to get started with this group next semester.

Some of the reason for trying to start this group is the great experiences I saw students having out at the Foundry in the University of Utah.  This is a presentation that shares some more details as to what they have done. We have to figure out the right model for RPI, and that may involve some changes.  Feel free to use this group email to share your thoughts and reactions.

Key will be to mobilize enough of the right people to ensure that this group gets initial traction, so please share this with those students you know are considering businesses.

Have a great holiday break.

Best,
Jason

Subject: please excuse the formatting

@ All,

Please excuse the formatting (the draft of this presentation came from Bill Schulze via PPT - I hate it but have no time to fix it) but the content does a decent job of detailing the (evolving) way that we are positioning the Foundry, and in particular why it works. Thought you might be interested.

Happy Holidays,

I've finished Eric Reiss's "The Lean Startup" book and can recommend it.
Steven Blank's book seems to be mentioned in a a lot of the same places
and found it is available online for free.
