 2012 RBPC Application

to Include

60-second Video Pitch

For the first time in its 12-year history, the RBPC will include the opportunity for teams to pitch their ventures by video in the official application.  The 60-second video pitch is one more unique snapshot of the venture that will help organizers select the top 42 teams invited to compete from more than 500 expected applications.

Cyclewood Solutions, 2011 RBPC Elevator Pitch Winner

This video above is from the 2011 RBPC Austin Ventures Elevator Pitch Winner, Cyclewood Solutions, and is a great example of what a 60-second pitch should contain.  For the Video Pitch on a team's RBPC application, there are a few tips:

  • Use whatever recording device you have:  smartphone, laptop, or handheld video camera, etc.--professional equipment strictly optional!
  • Any location will work:  library, apartment, classroom--no podium necessary!
  • The pitch should be a presentation style pitch about the company given by a member of the team--creativity welcome!
  • The pitch in the application does not have to be the one the team uses in the elevator pitch in the competition should they be invited to compete.

See our Video Pitch and Elevator Pitch Guidelines for more tips and instructions on how to include the pitch in your application.
