Greetings!
I am originally from Miami, Florida. I was born into a family of
Educators/Administrators. I completed my undergraduate degree at a
university in Atlanta, Georgia.
I am an experienced teacher (currently teaching 37-6th grade
students) ,who definitely believes in educating "the whole child."
Teaching was not an occupation that I wanted to secure. My love was in
Communications. However, my parents swayed me into another direction.
Obviously...lol.
Most of my teaching experience has been in lower income, disadvantaged
communities; in which student exposure to life outside the obvious,
was limited. Within the last 2 years, I gracefully accepted a new
challenge; teaching in a middle class community. This has been a
breath of fresh air for me. This challenge has recharged me
personally. I have had to make several adjustments in my teaching
style and methods of social interaction. But, I keep in mind, that
there is no progress, without change!
My daily mantra is...."If I can just reach one, then I must teach one.
The others that I along the way, make this journey worthwhile...."
