It's nearing that time of year again for school supply drives. Below
is a copied letter from Melanie at the Refuge, downtown Pasadena. Just
like last year whatever you wish to donate to these kids I’ll take
them over to Melanie, if you want. For our peeps who were not here
last year the Refuge in old downtown Passadena is a family shelter
that caters to women and young children. Melanie is the directer of
the shelter and provides homes A.A meetings, transportation to job
interviews, food, and other actives normally invovling small groups
ministries. If you wish Melanie has an newsletter she send via email.
Just head over to her website and submit a request to recieve one.
“It's that time again for our school supply drive and I would
appreciate anything at all you could do to help in getting some of the
supplies. Last year I did it differently by asking each of you to
adopt a child and it really was awesome and it was a blessing, however
the expense for each back pack was quite a bit so I have decided to
just collect the most basic school supply items for elementary and
middle school ages and let families come and get supplies they need.
It may not be everything they need but it will supplement quiet well.
Below is the list of items I am collecting and you may begin to drop
these to me at any time. Just call me at 281-380-7975 to arrange drop
off. If you are collecting items and doing your own mini drive I
would ask that you try to collect to the end of July if possible to
allow as much as possible to come in. Thank you all so much! Ya’ll
are so faithful at meeting the needs that I bring to you and I love
you so much!”
